I've just started my second playtrough even tough I bought the game at relaese (I'm hoping the DLC is positively affecting my replay experience)

In any case, as everyone, I've got squadmembers I really like, I've got others that I do not really care about, nevertheless I got everyone alive out apart from Thane on my first playtrough. As you never know that losing squadmember might negatively influence ME3?!! (Isn't that anyones fear?)

Nevertheless, since I don't really care about some squadmembers, do I really want them back in my ME3 game?? No I don't, I'd rather see new members.

So this time, screw Thane, screw Miranda, screw Zaeed and I might even get Grunt killed. Really hope that ME3 provides me with better replacements for them as personaly they do not have an added value to my personal experience.

Wondering what your view is on this matter, Do you want all those members you care less about to go trough and 'annoy' you once again in ME3? Or do you fear them not surviving will affect ME3 to much in order to get a Happy Ending?<_<

I guarantee that no one who could have potentially died will have a unique, important role in ME3. This should be obvious. So kill off whoever you want.

I didn't, the suicide mission wouldn't have had as much weight to it (for my roleplaying anyway) if at least someone from my crew hadn't died in it.

It doesn't have much weight to it no matter what you do, given how hilariously contrived the entire situation is.

"Oh hey, we don't know what's on the other side of this relay, so let's fly through it solo because that would obviously be the most dramatic thing to do!"

And then it turns out that you just so happens that the base is so poorly defended that you and your frigate can destroy the entire thing with relatively no resistance.

I wanted some characters to die purely for dramatic reasons but for that to happen I'd have to make some pretty stupid decisions thus breaking character.

So in my canon everyone lives.

This. And based on ME2's questionable continuity with ME1 (or lack thereof), ME3 will probably just  be another reset anyway....

ME2 didn't have any continuity to ME1? So all those e-mails and cameos were a product of my imagination?

I've come to love everyone in the squad too much to let any of them get killed (yes, even Jacob) and I'd rather not miss out on seeing them again in ME3. Besides, I can deal with a little more unrealisticness since the game starts losing sense towards the end as it is.

True, the base was so poorly defended that it required a reaper IFF to get through the only Mass Relay leading to it. :pinched:

I was kinda hoping Miranda would bite it, but she just refused to die. I wouldn't mind if some characters like Jacob, Samara, or Zaeed had died for in my playthrough for dramatic effect, but I enjoyed their loyalty missions and I'm glad I didn't skip 'em.

No, most of the team is cool, and if they live that's fine. But Jack, that's not someone i'd want to cut loose on an unsuspecting galaxy. I usually try to get her killed. (doing the crew escort while not loyal works well).

Same for Zaeed he's not a big loss.

I found it got rather boring towards the end, especially that dumb "harbinger" who kept appearing. He or it was a joke.
By this stage I had little affinity for any of the characters except Grunt. Him I liked.

It isn't so much the ending I'm worried about, as just the fact that I like pretty much all the characters.  I got
them all through the first time, and there is no one I dislike
enough to kill them on purpose.  Even Jacob, who is pretty boring as a
character, is actually a nice guy.  I couldn't bring myself to do it :-/

Also, IMO, I don't forsee the DLC characterscarrying over to ME3, so what happens to Zaeed or Kasumi is fairly moot.

Seriously?  Of all the characters, you liked the one dimensional krogan warrior template the best?

Yes, I've wanted to see several characters killed. The problem was in Shepard - do you really think full paragon will let someone die if (s)he can save everyone, no matter personal dislikes? So number of survivors vary from 12 (War hero, saved Council, etc) to 3 (complete loser). Problem solved.

It's somewhat puzzling, though, that one needs to plan on the squad members getting killed in the final battle simply in order to get them out of the team. I can't help thinking that during the campaign there should've been several chances to assign a less-wanted member or two to, say, head a permanent security team of a critical installation, settlement or some such. A bit clunky for an example, perhaps, but it'd be an easy way out regarding continuity as well - not having to come up with elaborate stories for each of the members for ME3.

At this moment in ME 2, all my Shepards will not let anyone die in suicide mission; as long as they are teammates, as a leader, you should make sure everyone can get through the mission no matter what.

My Shepard would simply not choose to the specific teammate if he/she doesn't like the idea. But I doubt most of us will RP that much by skipping the contents of the game. :P

Everyone survives when i play because my Sheps are leaders..paragon or renegade dosen't matter...and it would look bad if he lost a man in such an easy mmission such as the suicide mission

Oh look.  Another ME3 squadmates post.

Do I 'really' (with quotes even) want everyone to survive ME2?

Yup.  Because the entire game is centered around them, whether you like it or not.  The elite team that Shepard assembled to do the impossible.  What is the A Team without B.A., or Face, or Murdock?

You want to toss a few out the airlock, that's cool, it's your game.  I'd prefer instead to keep my entire team.

Short answer: Yes, because my Shepard is that damn good to get her entire squad, personal feelings aside, through a suicide mission.

No, I don't want everyone to survive ME2. For several reasons.

1) I hate some of the characters and would rather have they don't show their ugly face in ME3 again.

2) For story reasons. It's called a suicide mission afterall, having everyone get through just seems somewhat anticlimactic. It's also the dark second chapter and having Shepard face a bigger "no-win scenario" seems better than just letting everyone live.

3) Killing squadmembers unlocks better dialog in LOTSB.
