I'm gonna guess no, as if she knew Hawke, she wouldn't be asking questions. Maybe in the final portion of the game you can slip her the old whiskery gardenia, but I sort of doubt it.

As for Cassandra, I doubt she personally knows Hawke. Pertaining to her looks... I thought seeing her with slicked back black hair would be quite the drama, because she blends in with the darker portions of the room and as she gets more frustrated with Varric, she steps into the blue-tint light shining down from above him and you really get to see her actual features when she scolds him and finger-points.

I understand why some people do; it's just not something that appeals to me. I don't think he's a LI anyway, if for no other reason that problems with the narration. I mean, you think he'd talk differently about a female Hawke he's romancing, and I'm going to assume you can start and stop relationships at different points...it'll be pretty weird if he starts jumping back and forth between talking about the Hero to talking about his girlfriend to talking about the Hero (who is now his ex).

I mean, the game can't meta and know you're going to break up with him--so if he ever refers to his romance with her in the present tense, that's just weird. It seems overly complicated, is all I'm saying.

Unless at some point the narrative arrives at the present, which wouldn't be unexpected.

From the reasons given why Cassandra is asking about Hawke, I think it would be pretty lame if they do not meet during the events of DA2.  Would make the game seem like a prologue for cool things that happen in DA3.

I think you'd gain a better understanding of the argument if you asked random women in the street if they either preferred or did not mind being significantly taller than their boyfriend or husband.
