Ultimate Edition Boxed: Installation Problems

It contains:
1. Disc 1: Dragon Age: Origins
2: Disc 2 Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening
3: A sheet of paper with a code on it to download all the various bonus items, mini-levels etc.
I already have Origins installed and patched to 1.4 so assumed that I could put the specific Awakenings Disc in and install that too - but there's no installation option or instructions and nothing in the manual about this disc.
In fact I think the manual is just a recovered reprint of the original manual....
The DLCs seem problematic too - right now 3 of the larger ones are just sat at 0% downloading progress after many failed attempts. Presumably the servers are being hammered by new owners?
I really think the DLCs should have been included on a Disc but there you go, at least I can hope they will eventually download.

However now all the DLCs are "unauthorized" and I can't redeem my code again because I did that when I was trying to download them the first time. How do I get a new code or get the code I submitted to authorize these items?
I've checked again and nowhere in this product does it warn "If you already have DAO please re-install from scratch before doing anything else".

Ensure you log in to the game once with the email address & password used here (also reflected at the top of that page), and your DLCs should become active in the game. This can take up to a minute depending on connection.
If no DLCs are changing from unauthorized, then likely the DA updater service is not running (or was not installed correctly) - there are several workarounds on the PC tech support threads depending on the cause (the same threads will help you identify the issue).
Hope that helps.

During the Uninstall you get the option to keep your characters and settings so they remain safe.
If you want to manually back them up for safe-keeping these are in C:/Users/<You>/My Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age

I have installed both discs and due to game freezing I uninstalled as I thought it may be corrupted.
My problem is the 1st disc won't reinstall for a 2nd time - it stops during extraction at the core.rar files at approx 25%. Error received is 'failed to install'.
I've deleted the registry keys/disabled my AV and even copied the discs to the c drive as a disc image but without success.
Any suggestions?

I've got the same issue. After 15.7%, install fails (no reason). I've tried multiple things (including wiping Dragon Age from my registry completely) and nothing helps. I've got a ticket in with EA, but who knows if that will resolve anything.
If you want troubleshooting help, please post your complete hardware, OS, and game version info, preferably, in a new post. Thanks.

Second, there is a solutions round up thread pinned to the top of the forum. You may find the answer to your question there.
Third, while there is a massive amount of information missing, it sounds as if you either have a damaged disc or an incompatible DVD player. A number of people have reported issues with certain disc drives. You can use your CD key to get the EA download version of the game using the EA download manager now called Origin.

I am having the same issue and so far it has not been resolved and I do not know how to. It is hacking me off. :/aborrie wrote...
Does anyone know how to fix my problem? Whenever I try to install my Dragon age ultimate edition, it goes fine until I put in the second disk. Then it just kinda freezes and then it says: "Game failed to install" Can someone please tell me how to fix it if they know how?

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) on an Alienware m14x. My CPU is an Intel Core i7-2630QM running at 2.00 GHz. I have 4 GB of RAM.
