Hi. I recently bought jade empire for pc and played it and loved it. Now i wish to try some mods i found around the internet. The first thing i tried was a simple thing i found on gamefaqs.com. It said i could make the rhino transformation style in the game avaiable if i just change ar_town2da and change line 35 to (seventh astericks) j00_lti_rhino. I did that and still cannot get the rhino transformation in the game. Perhaps i am doing something wrong? Also, how do i apply mods? I knew how to do them for like KOTOR and NWN 1 (i don't have nwn 2). Im kinda stuck here so please help me? Thanks. BTW, i asked on gamefaq's also, but have not received a response due to the board being dead..

You have to read & follow all instructions carefully. Also I suggest taking a look at the old JE forums (http://jade.bioware.com/forums).

Please bear in mind though, not all mods give you instant access to the new styles. They'lll get unlocked gradually, e.g. after defeating a certain opponent.

Also, not all of them work, at least not for me (can't remember which, all but one worked in my case).

Thanks for the information. Im trying many of CARMAL BOY's mods apparently. And yes, i noticed some work and some don't work. It is a shame because some sound awesome. Regardless, i wish i could get that bull demon as a transformation, or for that matter, a demon rat, or even find the rhino demon transformation. Well, one readme on the mod i downloaded says i need to get a "2da Merger". But i looked it up and apparently there is one that is non-existant. Well, im gonna try again on my day off from work to see if i can get them to work...if you can help me any other way, id appreciate it.

To my knowledge there's no such thing as a "2da Merger". At least not for Jade Empire. So if two mods use the same files, you would have to combine them by hand. In addition to the two 2das you want to merge, you would need an unmodified one. Unfortunately the 2das that come with the game aren't meant to be read by humans or edited by hand. Buf fortunately papagamer has taken the time to turn all of them into text files and properly format them. You can find them here. Now open the clean one and one of the two you want to merge in a text editor. Copy the lines that differ from the modified one to the clean one. Do the same with the other modified one. Save the merged 2da in the override folder. That should do it.

i have no idea how to apply a mod to jade empire people,so if you guys can please make some sort of video or something an hook me up with it i would appreciate it very much..i tried looking on utube,but i didnt find anything.i have an elephont mod an i tried what they said but i dont think am doing it right.so help me plzz...!!

You're talking about this mod, don't you? I remember trying that one out. The Elephant Demon Transformation didn't work. Moonlight did work, but I seem to recall there was something wrong with it too. I think it couldn't be leveled up... In theory that's a nice mod, but it's unfinished. If you really want to use these two styles, why don't you try my mod? It contains corrected versions of both styles and a host of other things you might find interesting.
