Nobody should get their hopes up about Cassandra. She has not been shown in-game, except for the scene with Varric. Something tells me that she's Ser Cauthrein 2.0, I'm not sure if I spelt that right xD

She's A Major Character to the Plot.

So who does Varric tell the story to then?

I mean yeah obviously she won't be a party member or anything but....

Chapters 1-3: Varric talks about the Champion

Chapter 4: Cassandra and Varric talk enough, they somehow run into the Champion

Chapter 5-whatever: The story moves on in real time.

If the whole point of the story is for the Champion to become really damn important for some big mission, and Cassandra is trying to locate him by interrogating Varric to do that mission then, um, wouldn't it make sense for her to finally find him and enlist that help?

Is it known that Varric is the sole narrator from beginning to end? And that he's always referring to the past tense right on through to the end?

Maybe one of the Other Narrators is Cassandra reporting to her Superiors After she found Hawke?

I wonder if the final scene will be the Chantry ignoring everything she found out.

Because, you know, the name.

I do this to every Cassandra I know, it's an annoying compulsion.

Cassandra is interesting. It's damnably hard to learn more about her character when your reaction to any and all possible spoilers is to run in the other direction (while screaming "LA LA LA LA LA"). But by god, I will try.
I doubt my Hawke -amorphous though she is- will get along very well with Cassandra should they ever meet in person.
She doesn't exactly approve of people who deliberately drove an entire species to the brink of extinction. (Yeah, yeah, not her fault, shaddap)
...
Well, unless that species consisted of guinea worms.
Or darkspawn.
Maybe. >.>

She should get that looked at, or at least grow a spine.

Those poor dragons. They were innocently destroying small towns of people until those heartless Pentaghast came along.

Surprised your Hawke is even aware of concept of species extinction, in a world where people don't even have a single continent fully mapped out.

The people of Thedas know the gryphons are extinct and thought the dragons were until the Dragon Age.

The origin of the word is Latin extinctus, which is based on extinguere. As in, to extinguish a fire. Darwin didn't come up with the concept.
