I got Dragon Age Ultimate edition yesterday after previously owning just Origins on Steam with no DLC.
Now, I have downloaded and played some of the DLC however there's something missing from my game... and this is Awakening. I've searched everywhere and I can't seem to find a way to play the expansion! The readme file says that it should be in other campaigns, however it's not there!

Any ideas? Or am I just doing something stupidly wrong?

Same boat here. You need to install Ultimate over the top of your DAO - it will ask you to insert Disc 2 as part of that process and this will install all the other bits.

I did a fresh install of the ultimate edition, both disks and all, and I still can not locate Awakenings.

I've figured out the problem. When I installed the ultimate edition, I simply replaced the new Dragon Age folder (documents\\bioware\\dragonage) with the old one the keep saved games and such. I tried using the folder the ultimate edition created and sure enough, Awakenings is there.

There seems to be a problem with some Windows Registry settings leftover by the uninstaller or some other magic bogus. When I deinstalled my Ultimate Edition I cleaned my registry files and reinstalled the game but I couldn't access Awakening ingame. Awakening and all DLC wouldn't show up as installed but all files were present in the installation directory but I noticed that my AddIns.xml didn't contain any information.

Got me a fix for that (no guarantee that it will work so backup the files in your C:\\\\Documents and Settings\\\\$USERNAME\\\\My Documents\\\\BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\ folder)

Insert the second DVD then open a commandline (win+r "cmd")
cd C:\\\\Program Files\\\\Common Files\\\\BioWare\\\\
C:\\\\Program Files\\\\Common Files\\\\BioWare>saferun "I:\\\\data\\\\DAOU_UpdateAddinsXML.exe"
/programlocation="D:\\\\games\\\\Dragon Age" /addins="BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\Settings\\\\add
ins.xml" /offers="BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\Settings\\\\offers.xml" /S

(Replace I:\\\\with the driveletter of your DVD and point /programlocation= to your Dragon Age installation)

Correct formatted commands: http://www.pastebin.de/12279

Those commands solved my problems for now.

I had this problem after following the EA FAQ ( http://support.ea.co.../dragon age dlc ) to fix the DLC. I am using EADM since I bought this online. Here are the steps I had to take to fix this problem since I don't have a disc.

1. Go to the Dragon Age game directory and navigate to addins file. Defualt will be C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Dragon Age\\addins

2. The Awakenings files are designated as folder "dao_prc_gib_ep1" double-click this folder and then right-click the "manifest.xml" file and click Edit.

3. Highlight the entire contents, right-click and Copy.

4. Navigate to (default location) "C:\\Users\\(Your User name)\\Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Settings"

5. Right click the AddIns.xml file and click Edit. Right click at the top of the opened file and click Paste.

6. Remove the lines "<Manifest Type="AddIn">" at the begening and "</Manifest>" at the end of the added text. Click File and Save.

Awakenings should now appear in Other Campaigns.
