Disc now says "Disc is unreadable" after installing the update patch and installing the add ons from UE..
Why this something that was done to copy protect the adds on from UA over the old Collectors edition? The disc worked fine before the install of UE.
I am also using a brand new Halo Slim 360 less then 30 days old and have not seen this error on any other game. Also when I moved all of my stuff from one system to another I also checked Disc 1 on DA collectors and it worked fine less then 30 days ago..
Whats going on?
Dragon age Collectors Ed CD1 will no longer work once UA is installed

There is nothing game-side which would ever prevent the hardware from reading a disc. If the disc is not reading then it is either an issue with the disc or the hardware.
Were you able to try the disc again on another 360?

There is no problem with the DVD. Works in every other console and also worked 2 weeks ago when I switched from my Halo 3 360 to the new Halo Reach 360. After installing all items from DA Collectors the CD was fine. All of a sudden after getting the patch from the UE it no longer reads. There are also many other people having the same problem with Disc 1 of the UE. I am guessing you had a problem with the patch I had to install before updating to UE. This needs to be bugged and fixed

I thought I had a simple bad disc problem that went away 2 weeks ago when I swapped my DA:O UE discs at the store. After 2 weeks of having no issues at all, today it has started again. My xboxes see the disc as a movie DVD (wanting to play it instead of running it). If I am in a game and exit out I seem to now have the high likelihood that I will need to cold boot my xbox 5 or 6 times before it correctly identifies the disc as DA:O.
No other game disc I have tried does this (and I've tried a dozen today to see). It is only DA:O UE play disc. The annoying part is I have the game copied to HDD so all it needs to do is see that DA:O is in the drive.
Looking at the posts over the last 2 weeks, looks to me this is going to be one of those ones where they stay quiet and hope people go away. Not getting any help from Microsoft because it's specific to DA:O disc 1.

I'm not sure how the Xbox stuff works (sounds like the disk is not being read properly...) but the PC Collector's Edition doesn't use that disk after installing Awakening, the game needs the Awakening disk instead (not even accepting the CE disk anymore.) Is there a play disk for the UE?

Forgot to add: If there is a UE play disk, that will likely have to be the disk used. Unfortunately, it sounds like that may be bugged.

In the Xbox version you get 2 DVDs .. play disc and the DLC disc. You need to have the play disc (Disc 1) in the drive to play. The odd thing is, it's intermittent now. For 2 weeks, I didn't have one issue after my original disc had the same issue. Now every time I leave the game, the disc doesn't show as a game disc, but a movie DVD. Reboot the xbox a few times (usually 4-6 at this point) and it again reads it fine and I can play. Exit game, back to not reading it right.
And just an FYI, I'm only playing the main storyline now .. haven't done any of the DLC content yet.

Have you tried removing the disk before rebooting? That might reduce the number of reboots needed.
Overall, sounds like a nasty, if not fatal, bug. I'm not sure what could be causing this problem.

Jackkel - Yea .. it doesn't seem to matter.
Cry - I get the feeling enough people aren't reporting it or are chalking it up to their xbox having issues. Although, since this is Xbox you'd think it shouldn't be all that hard to replicate the issue themselves. Not like figuring out an issue on a PC.

Well I have the problem on PC and my xbox. The xbox collectors worked fine before the patch. Right after the patch it wont read the disc anymore. The system has no problems with any other 360 disc. Plus its a brand new slim halo 360 unit. Doubt the drive is bad. More then likely its a bad patch
