[Kim Shepard]

Assuming Wrex will unite an army of krogan, I won't include him in the list. I'd also like to have Mordin around as a scientist, and not necessarily a squadmate, so I won't include him either.

Honorable Mentions: Zaeed. Unless a ME2 Ultimate Edition is released with all of the DLC on disc, he won't be in my game. Such a shame too. He would have been my favorite human squadmate.

Also, Legion - for more Reaper and geth information, plus the quarian/geth conflict.

For new squadmates:

1. Kai Leng (for Cerberus supporters) / Anderson (for Alliance and Council supporters)
2. female turian vanguard
3. a batarian, one who is very different from the slavers and mercs we see in-game

And, you know, if a second Lazarus Project was done to bring Saren back... my Shepard would gladly look the other way if Cerberus decides to make their own Reaper out of batarians, or something crazy like that. Think about it, TIM.

Of course, I would switch it up in later playthroughs. But this is the team I would want for my MainShep.

1: Jack, goddamn, is there ANYTHING sexier? My favorite character.



2: Samara/Morinth: I prefered Morinth but Samara will have to do in a pinch unless you learn that Samara held back at the last second and didn't kill Morinth and she recovered then came back, killed her mother and joined your squad with or without telling Shepard or did the same if the loyalty mission was never completed.



3: Garrus: He's a staple of the game. Also he's damn cool.



4: Kasumi: She has huge potential I wanna see her face more than Tali's.



5: Grunt: I loved Grunt and would have romanced him if it was possible with at least one character.



6: Tali: Tensions mount between the Geth and Quarians and Legion returns to the Geth to fight Quarians

Wrex: Uniting Krogan Clans or dead; More useful leading clans than in squad

Liara: Acting as the Shadow Broker; useful providing information

Jacob: Part of Cerberus. inevitable split from Cerberus severs ties

Miranda: Part of Cerberus. inevitable split from Cerberus severs ties

Legion: Mentioned in Tali entry

Mordin: Probably dead from old age; At 50 he is already 10 years over the average age at which a Salarian dies.

Thane: Probably dead or rendered incapacitated from Kepral Syndrome; he should be non-functional already proving what an amazing character he is.

Zaeed: Cereberus funding for mission only motivation for joining team. severing of Cereberus ties severs ties with Massani

He's a very trustworthy character for me that takes account for the bad things he has done. He's a master assassin and has useful abilities. Definitely on the squad. ( plus, he's the LI of my Shep )

2. Garrus
Total wingman.  Shepard without Garrus is a total no-go for me. I consider him a best buddy, always there on your side and having your back. If there's anyone I can trust to get the job done, it's him.

3. Legion
He's a geth and all, but hell - no one should ever judge about an origin, right? Plus, I find him to be incredible interesting. It would be amazing to get more insight on him, and he's useful on the battlefield too.

4. Tali
Another old friend that Shep could always trust. She's sweet and cute, which would definitely be a change from all the other possible "badass girls" on the ship.

5. Grunt
Pure fighting power. If you need brawn, he's your best choice. He'll do as you say no matter what. He respects Shepard and he's powerful, like all Krogans. Enough said.

6. Mordin
His personality is awesome, plus he's very smart. Definitely useful.

I think Liara's role will be the same as the Illusive Man's. If you kept the Collector's base, you stick with Cerberus, Blow it up, you're with the Shadow Broker.
