In multiplayer especially, the person who levels his/her hero the fastest (unless major gameplay changes have occurred since the last time I played this 5+ years ago) always wins. You can spend the whole game building a grand army (of the republic) and then some jerk with a small squad and a level 10 hero will come in and decimate the whole thing.

Warcraft 3 Multiplayer. You're doing it wrong. War 3 is not designed to be a turtling RTS, at least not in multiplayer. The idea is to scout and harass as soon as you possibly can. It's about getting your hero out and hassling the enemy early on and messing with his base.

Which is why the game is pure fail. That concept is idiotic. If I wanted to play like that, I'd just pop in starcraft, set every race to zerg, and rush rush away!

No.

Bioshock. It's okay the first time through, but I must confess that I didn't find it at all brilliant like the rest of the internet. Just an average, albeit fairly pretty and well written FPS.

I agree with Wicked, harassing is just a waste of time really. The best thing to do, at least for me, is to build up all the defenses and amass a powerful army. Then when I get to top tier, I launch a full on attack, with back up forces in the base to defend or reinforce my attack force.

Red Dead Redemption.

I rarely buy a new release because I'm such a tightwad .  After forty dollars, I really wish I liked it.

I don't dislike it; I was just...bored.   Oh well, at least my husband seemed to enjoy it.

Borderlands - I've heard a lot of great things about it, but I can't get into it as it makes me want to throw up. Literally.
BioWare D&D games - Sorry, can't get into 'em. They make me feel like I'm bashing my head against a brick wall.

I really wanted to like RDR but ended up selling it.  I would enjoy it a lot more on the PC with a mouse/keyboard.

Valve games, Bioshock and Fallout.

your funny

What do you mean? I never really got into many Valve games but Portal. Sure Half-Life 2 was great gameplaywise once you got all the weapons but I sometimes felt myself thinking "does this ever end?" and I can't bring myself to do alot of the puzzles. TF2 was, in my opinion, a little overrated. But I guess i'm more for console shooters.
As for L4D, it just confused the hell out of me since the game was so far from Valve's teritory it's as if it was made by a completely different company.

Bioshock I disliked because I am bored by the gloomy enviroments and the plot was...creepy. I prefer to feel invincible in games rather than weak against an impending force of doom.

As for Fallout 3, I actually liked it. I just was annoyed by the fact so many things weren't fixed from Oblivion and the general cruelty of the game at the start. Apart from that it was a pretty cool game.

Just my opinions though.

Fallout 3 for me.

I really really wanted to like it. I actually liked the direction Bethesda was taking with the game, and I love the first two Fallouts(and new vegas now) but when I got around to playing it, it was just....boring. It was so little of an actual rpg that I couldn't stay interested, and so much of a shooter that I lost interest fast. I don't deny that it's very well made and has a great atmosphere, but the: combat, the lack of the rpg feel, the disgusting bethesda character models and voice acting and the overall boringness and drabness was too much for me.

some of you people should feel very guilty...

Half-life? that game is brilliant anyone who doesn't like that should hate all shooters because its the reason shooters are even half as good as they could be.

If you like Bioshock than thank Half-life.

/end rant

for me I'm ashamed I didn't give Fallout 1 and 2 enough of a chance. Before i played Fallout 3 and now with New Vegas I feel like I'm depriving myself of something special.

Other than that no I don't feel bad about stuff I don't like for example no amount of coaxing will talk me into liking the Final Fantasy Series.

Either rented or sneaked it from my brother's house for a night.

I don't think I've ever felt bad for disliking a game... I may have felt guilty for spending money on something I didn't really end up liking, but yeah...

I won't be original: The Witcher - I know I should not judge a pretty good game on basis of  the series it based on, but  I just can't  go past the Setting.  Don't like it, don't like the hero...

Bethesda games too -  There is no plot, people - I can't play without the plot

Why should anyone feel guilty about not liking particular games? We're humans, we have the ability of free will. If something doesn't appeal to us, we should just accept that we don't like said game and not give a **** about what others think of our preferences. I dislike a lot of games that are popular, but am I going to feel some sense of obligatory guilt simply because these games are popular? No, I'm going to continue being happy with my preferences.

Overall I just find this topic pointless, but whatever.

For me it would be ME2, because it is to straight forward for me. I'm fearing DA2 will have the same effect on me. Though i liked ME and DAO.

Fallout 3 and Oblivion. Good games in their own right, but totally unforgiving if you mess up in an earlier stage. I was turned into a vampire in Oblivion and I'm stuck in a dungeon. If I go out, the sun will kill me and if I go back in the mobs will kill me. And my arena was bugged, so if I ever entered in I was stuck in there. No way out, except for load last save. And it wouldnt release the next contestants. As for Fallout 3, well I went melee at first because I thought it would be cool. But lo and behold. A few levels later, every fight was like an epic endgame bossfight that lasted 20min+. Half of those being death loading screens.

Still good games, but can totally go wrong.

That happened to me once.  I basically hid or something and just waited till the time came back around to night time.  It was boring.  You could load an earlier save and do that...wait until night.

It gets dull fast. Mind you, I never played it, I watched someone play it, but that's enough to get me into a game usually.
Usually games like that scare me to death but after 10 minutes of "Oh, look, something's going to pop up around the next 3 corners and say boo and you'll shoot it" ... well, yeah. *This was just the demo though, but still.*

Because some people actually take pride in being gamers.  Call that silly if you will but games are responsible for many of my fondest memories and I take pride in the enjoyment they've provided for me over the years.

When a game seems like it should be enjoyable and it seems like it does everything right yet for some reason I just can't enjoy it(like with The Witcher) then that makes me feel guilty.  It makes me feel as if I'm losing touch with quality gaming.
