So apparently if you dress Sten up in noble clothing he will look like a gigantic plum, or something to that effect. Has anyone tried this out?

I find it curious that Qunari also have pointy ears. An elf connection perhaps?

So, I haven't gushed much here. That should probably be redressed!
I love Sten. I love thinking a conversation is going poorly and then getting +54 approval. I love someone who only grudgingly gives respect to my little-god-on-Thedas Warden.
The Warden I had who's best gotten along with him was my blood mage. She's the one who unlocked all his "secret" dialogues- a fact I adore for its sheer irony. My arcane warrior is also a Sten fan, I imagine. That's mostly because they share an affinity for big-ass swords.

Even better when he's on high approval and suddenly tries to take over forcing you to kick his but up and down the sidewalk only for him to then give you +8 oh the lols

Even better yet is when he says he trusts you with his life and doesn't challenge you at all.
When that happened the first time, I was so prepared to fight with him and I was all, "Whaaa?" then I went,
@loveassassin13: Who wouldn't want to travel with sten! I know I would, and I like to imagine my Warden did.

Yeah, he's definitely hard to keep content. He'll be a permanent member of my parties from here on in so hopefully I'll get it all right one day and experience the Sten Zen.

So, I found Sten's stats to be a bit off when you get him. Specifically his constitution is terrible so I spent three levels pumping that before I could go on to willpower and strength. How did you guys adjust The Sten's attributes?

You'd think that would be a formula for him to get killed, but he one-shotted so many enemies early on in game that a mob of 7 quickly became 3 guys desperately trying to kill Sten.
You gotta be willing to let his health dip to 25% to do it my way and trust that he doesn't need a heal. It's a hard instinct to break - but it works.

He dies a lot early in my game and I think his starting constitution is 18 so I took him above 25 but, yeah, strength is definitely his thing. He uses a three rune slot Dragon bone Great Sword in my layout and I'm happy with that. I think I sold Yusaris somewhere earlier in the game. I gave him the Juggernaut Armour and that seems to suit him well. I like him having a good stamina pool too so I usually put as many points as I can into willpower.

It's shame his own sword doesn't have a few rune slots as the +12 attack is pretty awesome.

On PC his starting constitution is 13. THIRTEEN. Hard to imagine, huh. But warriors get more hit points per level regardless. But still . . . 13.
As to his strength . . . I forgot to mention I know his conversation options by heart, so I get +6 strength very early on. Early on 6 points is a big deal. Naturally some gifting is involved too, but I know where to buy those and am not afraid to visit locations to get them. Somehow I always run into Rip-Off Tegrin and buy a painting from him, one from Faryn, and find one in the circle tower.
Otherwise I do everything as you detailed until I get Wades Superior Dragonbone Plate and the Rock-Knocker helmet. The armor has some decent stamina restoring qualities, the helmet gives him high physical resist, and the items match so he looks good.
I suggested Yusaris only because if you go to the Circle early in the game you can have a T6 weapon in hand long before Mikhail will sell you a Dragonbone Greatsword. But once you can get a 3 socket greatsword . . . absolutely. After level 11 Yusaris is good for one thing - killing dragons. That's it. And once I'm around level 14 I see no noticeable advantage to holding on to Yusaris.

I looked at using equipment with stamina boosts and physical resistance, Wade's Superior Dragon Bone Plate looks like the thing for Sten. I'm in Malkuth at the moment so I can't get to Denerim until after I finish Dark Times.
