These are to-die-for-good. Easy to make and wonderful for the late autumn and winter holidays. I substitute pecans for almonds and skip the granulated sugar topping.

Ahhh thank you Asepsis, I was under the impression that he said it in lake Calenhaad - of course I couldn't understand why none of the options I picked resulted in the cake line.

Sten became one of my favourite characters in Dragon Age. I can't help but love how blunt he is and the way he talks, even though I might disagree with what he says. My impression of Sten mirrors my view of the qunari as a whole actually - as much as I'm disconcerted with what they say or do, I can't help but be in awe of them and their abilities.

Anyway yes, I thought Sten was great. I'd put him in my top 4 favourite characters from Dragon Age along with Loghain, Alistair and Morrigan.

My top heartwarming Sten moments (there are a surprisingly large number of these):

1. When he starts calling you "kadan".

2. When you find Asala he says "I think you must be an ashkarri to find a single lost blade in a country at war."

3. Eventually he tells you that when the arishok sends his forces to Ferelden "I will not look to find you on the battlefield".

4. If the Warden performs the ultimate sacrifice, Sten reports back to the arishok that he did find one warrior of true greatness in Ferelden.

I might have forgotten a few. But they're just heartwarming moments. Don't get me started on his dry cynicism and wit!


Basically, I always feel like I've achieved something when I befriend Sten. I am incapable of playing through Origins without having the Warden and Sten reach that level of mutual respect, love and camaraderie.

Ah no, Lake Calenhad is where he offers cookies to the templar (Carroll). You have to avoid using your persuade options for that - ask Carroll what he wants and if Sten's in party he'll say he's peckish. The next part's hilarious.

Well said! I loved it when he gets that smile on his face after you give him Asala. Such a great character.

I always get a warm and fuzzy feeling inside when Sten calls my Warden kadan. And I love it when I find his sword and give it back to him, makes me want to hug him.
I'm currently having him, Leliana and Morrigan in a party, I feel kind of bad for him, but the party banter amuses me.

Also, cute Sten! I think he's commenting on something about.. hallowed ground and blood being spilt.

I love banter between him and Morrigan, especially the final one of the 'you want to sleep with me' banter from Morrigan.

Morrigan: You seem so deep in thought, my dear Sten. Thinking of me, perhaps? The two of us, together at last?
Sten: Yes.
Morrigan: I... what did you say?
Sten: You will need armor, I think. And a helmet. And something to bite down on. How strong are human teeth?
Morrigan: How strong are my teeth?
Sten: Qunari teeth can bite through leather, wood, even metal given time. Which reminds me, I may try to nuzzle.
Morrigan: Nuzzle?
Sten: If that happens, you'll need an iron pry bar. Heat it in a fire, first, or it may not get my attention.
Morrigan: Perhaps it would be better if we did not proceed.
Sten: Are you certain? If it will satisfy your curiosity...
Morrigan: Yes. Yes, I think it is best.

Sten has a great sense of humor, its just really hard to see sometimes.

One of my favorite Sten moments is his face off with Dog. I usually choose the *back away slowly* option, but hearing what he has to say about Dog at the end of their growling session together is sweet in that unique Sten way. He really is such a softie beneath the gruff exterior.

I also like it when you ask Dog what's going on and Sten says "The true warrior understands."

I love that conversation!
