Let's pretend Bioware was cruel enough to give us real choices that matter, and there were no charm/intimidate get-out-of-jail-free cards in ME2. Which characters would you side with in their respective confrontations, thus likely condemning the other to die?

Miranda or Jack?

Tali or Legion?

And let's make it interesting and pretend Bioware wanted to make it so half your crew would die, and gave everyone a similar choice in some form or another:

Mordin or Grunt?

Jacob or Zaeed?

Garrus or Thane?

Samara or Kasumi?

And just for cruel fun:

Joker or EDI?

Anderson or TIM?

Honestly, the choices are pretty easy for me.

Miranda, Tali, Jacob, Garrus, (can't answer, don't have Kasumi), joker, Anderson.



The only one I'm unsure on is Mordin or Grunt. Probably Grunt for the sheer fact that he's at the start of his life, Mordin is at the end of his.

Miranda or Jack?
Miranda - she has something to live for; Oriana. Jack is already sorta dead inside - no great lost for her there.

Tali or Legion?
Tali. Legion well.. the Geth can restore the 1000+ programs from archive. Sides they are all Geth, losing 1000+ program (out of trillions) is like losing hair to a human.

Mordin or Grunt?
Mordin - he is the only one who has a chance of curing the genophage

Jacob or Zaeed?
Jacob I suppose... 

Garrus or Thane?
Hard one but I will choose Thane cos he needs time to make things right with his son.

Samara or Kasumi?
Neither, either

Joker or EDI?
EDI - since she is the Normandy.. losing her means Shep ends up spaced again XD

Anderson or TIM?
Udina pls?

Zaeed both suck, but jacob slightly harder than zaeed.

I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with me because I really really dislike a lot of "fan favorite" characters (especially Tali, I screw her over every chance I get in ME2):

Legion (Tali whines too much)

Miranda (Jack would ditch Shepherd if she could, I'd bet plus she's so generic)

Garrus (Thane is dead soon anyways)

EDI (Joker is extremely replaceable)

Kasumi (I took Morinth over Samara anyways, and Kasumi is way better than both of them, imo)

TIM (Anderson doesn't have TIM's stockpile of information or plans to further humanity - which I fully support. I cooperate with TIM few questions asked)

Jacob (I don't like Zaeed OR Jacob, but Zaeed is too much of a liability on missions. See: Zaeed's loyalty mission)

Mordin (Grunt is really awesome, I like him a lot, but Mordin is more useful because of his Scientist background+research capabilities, and in theory re-making Grunt wouldn't be that difficult considering what Cerberus did with Shepherd, and Okeer's obvious lack of funds in the first place says Grunt wasn't too expensive)

Miranda > Jack. Hate Jack. She's so uselessly annoying.



Tali > Legion. Legion could be built again with nothing lost if he is destroyed except for his hole, thus an improvement.



Mordin > Grunt. Mordin can have more story impact IMO than Grunt can for ME3. The Krogan don't need Grunt to save them, Wrex is more than enough Krogan to do that.



Zaeed > Jacob. He's just more interesting.



Garrus > Thane. Garrus is more useful in the long run, though Thane's end come ME3 should be quite interesting.



Samara > Kasumi. Kasumi is just a thief. Samara rids the galaxy of filth.



Joker > EDI. Like with Tali vs Legion, easily choose the living over the synthetic. EDI has nothing that cannot be replicated.



Anderson vs TIM.... hmm this is actually the hardest choice for me. On the one hand, Anderson is a long time friend of Shepard and has done much for him. On the other, TIM I believe has more potential in ME3 (not to mention my shepards are all about humanity being powerful instead of being constantly held back.) I think I'd have to side with TIM in the end.
