ok i'm a scripting n00b  and maybe i'm just not looking in the right places  i've searched these forums and the vault and lexicon  can can't find what i want.  i'm wanting to create maze, but to make it realistic i need to turn off the map functions anyone can help me on how to do this?

I posted a script to the BioWare forums a couple years back that will effectively turn off the minimap.

I have a trigger based version around here somewhere if you prefer to not use heartbeat. Let me know and I'll unearth it. It is the same idea as 420's stuff, just called from a different event. ExploreAreaForPlayer is the key function.
