So I don't know if anyone else observed this but when it comes to Mage vs Warrior (I haven't tried the Rogue yet) but there is no comparison. The Mage simply isn't balanced. In comparison to say Mass Effect the Adept was equally competitive with the Soldier but in DA:J this isn't true.
When leveling I found that the Mage's spells did not scale damage wise nearly as well as good old fashioned weapons you can pick up. When you combine the lower damage leveling and the lack of armor of a Mage he/she cannot compete against a warrior for ease of play.
If DA:O has the same 'challenge' in character balance I'll find it sad. It will make it very difficult not to favor warriors over Mage's.
I'm curious about Rogues since I haven't tried them.
Now realize it's a true stretch to take a Flash Game and compare it's balance to the real game but something makes me believe there is a correlation in how the games are balanced.

This came up recently in another thread, and I gave my opinion there, which would be a similar one in this case.

There is no correlation. Anyway, Mages have access to more abilities in Origins and CAN wear armor, if you're worried about that.

As long as damage scales as well as weapons do I'll have no problems. Obviously it depends not only on the abilities in Origins but also on the gear. It's like the scaling of Dual Wield Warriors or Rogues in comparison with man other classes in early versions of WoW. Damage was simply not comparable hence warriors got nerfed hard there. In this case I'm curious about how things will turn out in DA:O.

It is simple fact that this game is not balanced at all. That doesn't mean playing a super overpowered two-hander rogue isn't fun:

Something else I think is worth pointing out, is that DA:O is a single-player game. There is more levity involved in balancing combat between classes in single-player, especially in terms of damage. There are simply so many other things to consider. For example, out-of-combat skills (rogue skills jump to mind), and utility spells (such as buffing). Player versus Player will never be an issue.
Also, game (good) game designers will tweak the game balance not necessarily on how powerful the classes are relative to each other, but how fun they are to play. I realize that if things are too out of balance, a playthrough with, say, a warrior will be a cakewalk, while a mage will be difficult. However, we will just have to trust that the playtesters and QA did their job, and in the end we have a game that is potentially just as fun to play with any class.

i found that warrior is as good as a rogue damage wise
mages have more utility and are long range...archery...have not found a way to hit 40 dmg with that...highest i hit was 31....

Try taking Mind Blast with your mage, you will start to feel overpowered at that point. Decent damage and a one round stun on your opponent, have the Healer take Mind Blast also and even the Ogre and two Alphas fight will be easy.

personally i kind of like the fact the the classes arent balanced. makes each character class play very differently which to me is more enjoyable. so one class doing less damage than another is desirable to me versus all classes being equal. and i am ok with certain classes making the game "harder".
the fact that mages can "CC" mobs from range gives them a huge advantage in combat. also found that this can really help timing of when to take mana/stamina pots during battle without losing an active combat turn to the mob.

I've only played for a couple of hours and up to rumbling in the deep or whatever it's called. Having two mages with mind blast is at least decent, you can lock out multiple enemies and it seems to effect even the most powerful found so far - the emmisary, ogres and alpha's. But yeah the damage is well down on the warriors.

Yep cookie cutter builds seems to be the only way to play Mage's and Rogues. Seems kinda boring. I can tell by the posts that the fear is ye ol' nerf bat on Warrior's and Melee rogues but I don't think that's needed. Just need to scale mage and archery rogue damage better ... bam ... everything better
