I'm thinking about stopping my current plays as mage since things just get too easy. And ... honestly, I bug the hell out of me not be able to use all those shinning armors and weapon I'm collecting.
So I'm thinking about starting a new char, and sicne this is the third reboot I want to make it extra spicy. What do you think the feasibility of an all "armored" party. No CC, no mage, no heal. I'm thinkin myself as a 2H/Dual Weird fighter, Alistair as a Shield/Board, Orghen and Sten as 2H. I think it would be fun since our single target damage probably gonna be crazy. I'm just not sure how much it's possible for fights with ton of AOE around.
Shinning armor group ... possible?

Biggest problem you would have is getting to the nasty mages in the game. You would take a ton of damage rushing the mages but you cant ignore them or their fireballs will throw you left and right.
Probably going to need at least one archer that can snipe. Or, it's possible if you can get a full set of crossbows for all 4 members to have them switch to crossbows at once and focus fire mages when you see them. Because crossbow limits are based on STR rather than dex this would work find perhaps.
Also, you have to consider some of the harder fights in the game that almost require a healer (Broodmother for instance). As well as creatures that have melee attacks constantly hitting all of your party members at once (Revs and High Dragons).
Might be possible on Normal or Easy but I would find it hard to see it being viable without a mage on Hard or Nightmare

I don't know if it's of interest to you, but with the Arcane Warrior class (Mage specialization), you could actually have a mage in full plate armor, the specialization can be found in the Brecilian forest ruins.
Anyway, I don't think an all armor class would stand a very good chance against crowds, Perhaps with two tanks that switch taunts and a lot of health poultices, but still...

arcane warrior an idea.. wynne is wearing juggernaut at my party.. oghren (armored with helmet of deep, loos epic) , allistair in blood dragon armor, and me in massive dragonbone.
4 steamrolling armored bad ass ppl.. with a tank 2x 2hnder dps and a spirithealer/arcane warrior.

You could AW Morrigan as well and have yourself a pretty effective dps-battlemage.
