Nice work, rafhot. It looks like the heads could use a little more highlighting and shadows (to bring out details and match up with the torso and arm textures), but definitely nice.

The hair looks very good, Rafhot, but the amethyst dragon is right about the highlighting and shadows.

Especially on the green parts of the faces more shadows under the eyes and along the noses are needed. While you can see the noses well in the faces without the green paint, the head that is half green and half red looks almost as if it didn't have a nose.

The expressions on the faces, especially the first two, are well done. I was just wondering why they all have red eyes.

That last one is particularly sweet. Didn't they use the scooped out bits to poke the spear through and stab people?

Those shields look great! The only one I don't like as much as the others is the second one because it looks too 'clean'. I mean, it looks brand new and unused. The others look as if the have been used already. The one I like the most is the penultimate one because it looks as if it has been used in battle a lot.

A winged pegasus that players could use/fly would be awesome and right up there with the Greeks....

*laughs* You have been talking with the Rome/Greece DM haven't you? ;) I actually have a pegusus model, but much to her dismay, it is not rideable/flyable. I'd be glad to post the model if anyone wants to breathe some life into it.

@Mistress

Yes, I believe so.

@Zwerkules

You're right, I'll work a bit on this texture.

And one that I couldn't forget... :D

Not quite sure why, but I'm in an egyptian type of mood today. Go figure! I'm searching through wiki commons for 1 or 2 nice images to make loadscreens out of. So hopefully one of the Sphinx with a pyramid in the background. As well as one of the statues at Abu Simbel. I'll also be making a couple for Rafhot's South American theme. Any other themes y'all would want to see?

Looking over the Roman/Greek ones I posted earlier, I'm leaning towards just including the following (cause yeah... made way too many for this!) Unless there are other ones y'all would rather keep?

1-2: generic, intact columns.

2-1: garden scene from Pompeii

2-3: Trevi fountain

Here are a couple images/suggestions of *chuckles* "commoner" egyptians for those that can do clothing. The male and female robes in this one:

Wow, looking great! My personal favorite is the fourth one but the one pointed out by Mistress is awesome, too.

Your contribution is refreshing and much appreciated *especially* if everybody is mainly looking for more Greek and Roman things. It's always cool to have people thinking 'out of the box' and going against the stream. Your server project sounds very interesting, too. I'm currently learning Brasilian Portuguese for fun and wouldn't mind checking the PW out once it's running. Boa sorte!
:)

Notice how she is teasing us with what the 2nd shield may look like? *winks*

Here is what I came up with for Egypt.

1-1. Photograph by Rémih - Statue of Ramses II, Luxor Temple Egypt

1-2. Photograph by Than217 - Khafre's Pyramid and the Great Sphinx

1-3. Photograph by MatthiasKabel – Little temple of Abu Simble

I nearly finished the first roman building.

The shops look a bit like garages when they are empty. There'll be one version of the tile where the shops will be left empty so builders can place what they want there. Another version will have a few things placed in the shops.
In those two versions the shops will be walkable but the balcony won't. I sooo wish it was possible to have walkable terrain at two different hights, but sadly it's not. :crying:
There will be a third version of this tile with the balcony walkable. That means everything under the balcony won't be walkable, so I will place counters and wares and the like on the sidewalk under the balcony and fill the shops with wares so it becomes obvious that you can't walk there.

Zwerk, looking at the Roman building its really remarkable how little European architecture has changed. That building would look equally at home in Ancient Rome or a WWII Town.

This model is very close to a reconstruction of a house in Ostia. And you are right, I guess you could find a house like this in say Sorrento even nowadays. The other side has pillars which look a bit more like ancient rome. I made two sides of this building visible instead of just the front like it is done in the Bioware city tileset because I don't want the tiles with building terrain in all for corners be just roofs.

The buildings would become far too big then. Instead they have a kind of atrium on the other side and the tiles with building terrain on all four sides will be garden tiles with ponds and fountains, etc.

Yeah, I've always tried to avoid using that roof-line tile when building with the Bioware city tileset. I wouldn't mind seeing that tile expand into a tileset in its own right - or maybe as an addition to another project. ;)

I have a suggestion for a CC event... there are not a lot of helms that our players like, so most resort to using a hood. Would be nice to see new helms made in an attractive fantasy style.

I made a corner tile so I could look at the roman buildings in the toolset and the game. The gate and the edge tiles are still missing.

I will replace the dirt by a cobble texture later. If 'rotate texture' only works for one ground texture, I'll have to make the cobble texture similar to the texture from the City Exterior  tileset where each edge of the texture can be placed next to another edge without visible seams.

Wow, Zwerkules! Just... wow! Fair dues to you for tackling terrains. All your shots look amazing.

I've finally decided what I will do: as an Irish lass, it is my patriotic duty to create Celtic jewellery. Not icons but body parts. However, this should not take forever like my pirate outfit because I'll just be adding some objects to standard Bioware body geometry (like necklaces, torcs, armlets, etc) and thus won't need to do a ridiculous amount of adjustment to assure my creations don't clip.

Thank you, Rafhot. It's always great to hear when someone's interested in one's national mythology. We grow up pretty much inhaling this stuff, so it's normal for us to like it. When others show interest is, I think, the sign there's something special at work. :-)

Of course, if I hadn't gone with a Celtic theme, it would have had to be an Incan one. I was a huge fan of The Mysterious Cities of Gold as a child. So it would have been native Americans of a different kind to join yours. Ah well - maybe some day... ;-D
