He's been confirmed to not be in DA2. Yet he can't be killed, even after he betrays you in haven. Plus, even if you leave him in the cage, he could still have escaped when Hawke did.

Moreover, since the Qunari are the main antagonists, Sten would have made for a great boss fight. Granted, I'd feel bad about killing Sten, but still, it's a missed opportunity for pure epicness.

Well. They probably don't want to redesign him--he'd be nigh-unrecognizable. And in a qunari vs Kirkwall war, he'd be the enemy--I'd rather not have my new player character kill off my favorite bronari from the last game. That'd upset a lot of people, I should think.

He can be killed. Don't recruit him in Lothering. That's one dead Qunari.  I'm pretty sure that's confirmed, is it not?

Sten was gathering intel on the Blight, which means he'd be the one leading the Qunari campaign that invades the Deep Roads to convert the Darkspawn to the Qun. Or something...

yeah Sten might be killed either way. it also depend on players' save file.. so i don't think it is a good idea to bring him back.

It's not official, but it's what the writing team envisioned happening.

It has? I wasn't aware we had confirmed him appearing or not (same with pretty much all NPCs except Flemeth).

Isabela isn't confirmed? That will make the SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A NEW CHARACTER crowd happy.

I'm next to positive I heard it--now to go and listen to the whole thing again. I guess I could be wrong.

Going by that logic, it wouldn't be a good idea to bring any party member back for a cameo except Morrigan.

Sten put on some weight when he helped the Qunari reverse-engineer cookies. I mean, someone had to be the taste tester. He's no longer in fighting form, sadly.

If Sten doesn't come back for DA2, I think it's safe to assume that we have something bigger planned for him later, don't you?

Does that mean he definitely escaped that cage? Because he can't be too important if he's dead.

I would've thought that the qunari would jump all over the cookie thing and started an entirely new caste devoted to baking with Sten in a supervisory position! Oh, just saw the dev response - maybe Sten will get back into fighting form in time for DA3 then (or some future game - hehe)!
