Edit: I will say this. Alistair is not that crazy about being married to someone he doesn't love, and he is happy if he doesn't have to break up with the warden. *sigh* Looking in the toolset, but it cannot be answered like you are asking.
Second edit: It's possible to set up the marriage, in a romance with him or no, without any approval loss. It's also possible to do it in a way where he'll dump the warden, never be able to restart it, and reset the approval to 0.

how do you check the toolset? also if you find the dialogue, can you post it?
This is a lot of dialog to post. You check the toolset by opening it.
Check out my edit above. That is only the conversation in alistair_main.dlg. I'll look at the post landsmeet in a second.
Edit: Ok, post landsmeet, if you talk him into it by not using the persuade check, you get a low increase. If you talk to him using the persuade check, you get no increase. But there are other approval changes in the conversation.
You can't give a simple number because so much depends on which dialogs you choose, and these are both very complex conversations with a lot of branches.

This is the one that struck me (it's a tiny tiny part):
Warden: You'll do it because I tell you to.
Alistair: I see. Is that how it is? (pissed off) [IF: APP_ALISTAIR_ROMANCE_ACTIVE UNSET: APP_ALISTAIR_ROMANCE_ACTIVE]
Alistair: Fair enough. You want it to happen? Go and tell her it'll happen. (he is agreeing but he's not happy about it) [set: app 0]
Alistair: But that is going to be the last order you give me. Now leave me alone. (furious)[set: marriage success] SET: APP_ALISTAIR_OFFENDED
There's also a romance cut off flag set in there.
Edit: It is also possible for there to be no approval loss in this conversation. And since there are so many branches, it really is a pain to get them all in.

Alistair: You... why would you do that? What about us? (flabbergasted, he can't believe it -- "what about us" meaning "what about the fact that we love each other")
Warden: This is a political arrangement, nothing more.
Alistair (if changed): All right. I'll accept that... for now. (neutral, but he really doesn't approve)
Alistair: Why do you think I should do this, then? Tell me. (challenging)
Warden: She can rule while you lead. It's perfect.
Alistair (pass the persuade check -- low if in love, medium if not in love): Hmm. You might have something there. (dubious, focus on "might")
Alistair: All right. You've convinced me. If it comes to that... I'll agree to marry her, Maker help us all. (reluctant) [SET: DEN_ALISTAIR_MARRIAGE_SUCCESS]
Alistair: Go and tell her, if you think it's a good idea. Me, I think I need a drink. Or ten. (dubious on the entire thing, he's just decided to go ahead with something that frightens him)

You've really helped me alot. Is their a way to walk out with positive approval, you dont have to post. Also, is there any approval increase in becoming alistair's mistress?
I'm not sure you can walk out with positive approval (I don't want to comb the entire thing) but the one I posted above shows one with no approval loss. I'm fairly sure the only way to gain approval in that conversation is to change your mind about the marriage.
The post landsmeet conversation...
Here are some lines.
Warden: Perhaps you should do what pleases you, for once. [ACTION: APP_ALISTAIR_INC_low]
so you should get, hmmm, 2 approval for that line.
Warden: But I love you. Isn't that important to you? [APPEARS WHEN: APP_IS_LOVE ACTION: APP_ALISTAIR_INC_low]
But then there's this:
Warden: Being king is not a punishment, Alistair.
Alistair (if passed medium persuade check): You're right. Of course you're right.
Interesting that on the persuade checks in the conversation, you don't gain approval. In both conversations you can talk him into whatever, and if you don't use the persuade checks, you do gain approval in some instances. VERY interesting. I guess Ali doesn't like being manipulated in these matters.

I did this exactamont and thought I had succeeded in marrying Alastair and Anora.....but it never went that way and Alastair became King. I can never choose Anora on any playthrough but I did try for a marriage of convenience.
Hohum something about art mimicking life.

Hardened Alistair deciding to do what he wants is so damn sexy.
