We're seeing quite a lot of threads being opened up on this common issue, so this is an attempt to provide a quick link to some existing solutions which should address the majority of issues.

1) Ensure you have redeemed your DLC code (this is NOT your cd key)

Separate from the cd key, you will find an insert in the box with a DLC code (or this is emailed to you for digital versions).  This is a two-sided insert, with a Mass Effect 2 image on one side, and the DA Ultimate Edition DLC redemption code on the other side.

You can redeem the code here.

2) Verify your DLC is correctly added to your account

You can then verify if any DLC is attached correctly to your account here.

3) Connect your game to the DA servers once, so the game knows your DLC is attached to your account

Make sure you login to the game once using the same email/password as you use here on the site (this email address should be visible at the top of this same page to confirm).

Give it a couple minutes and your DLC should be recognized (and change from unauthorized).

4) Play

Once all DLC is no longer unauthorized, you can now play the game with any of the content.  You do not need to stay logged in if you do not want to.

STILL HAVE ISSUES:
If the DLC is still unauthorized - 99% likely the cause is something related to the DA updater service which is used to connect to the servers and check that your account has these dlc:

1) Try restarting the PC. Depending on windows version and whether you installed the game from disc vs digital service, the restart is sometimes needed for the DA updater service to take correctly.  This is also true for uninstall/re-install scenarios - restart after each step in that case.

2) Follow the steps in this thread to identify your specific issue and resolve it (depends on what the issue is).

Hey, guys. If anyone is still having DLC authorization issues with Ultimate Edition please let me know either with a post or simply PM me. We've identified another issue with the way the CD-Key is being stored and have a fix of sorts we'd like you to try.

Want to know if this fix applies to you? Here are the symptoms:

1 - The DAO config utility displays an empty product key.
2 - DLC repeatedly deauthorizes when logged out.
3 - Achievements show up in a quasi-locked state.

Again, this will only be affecting Ultimate Edition users.

Well, all my saved games are still gone and I am not able to access any of my previous downloadable content. I used to have "Awakenings" and no longer have it.

What a mess!!!

I finally gave up on EA Support after three weeks of getting different techs to support me and everyone of them offering the same advice that Fernando Melo provided. None if it worked the first time or the 15 other times (a bit of exaggeration there) I had a support tech from EA ask me to run through the same steps. It's like they're following a script.

I was told they were going to send my issue to some sort of 2nd level support but never heard from any 2nd level support and it took almost a week in between replies.

Finally I gave up and just asked for my money back from EA.com and went to Gamestop and bought a CD version. I'm convinced it has to do with these stupid downloaders that these companies are forcing you to use all so they can attempt to protect their content.

Attention to all game companies! Stop trying to rake everyone over the coals. You're saving money on packaging, shipping, media, etc so that someone can download games from your websites directly! Stop trying to protect your games with DRM so hard. You are making it more difficult than it needs to be!

I buy software from my Anti-virus company and I download an executable to my hard drive and they send me a key that when I first input in the software it immediately goes out and registers my software and recognizes how many times I've installed it on a machine! Simple. No Download Managers involved, just an executable and a key that has 'x' number of licenses associated with it.

Here's another piece of advice. In all of your futile attempts in DRM and all the money you are spending to try and protect your content, and it's still available out there for free from someone who has hacked your keys. So what's the point? Ever heard the phrase... "The path of least resistance"?

I had a phenomenal deal when I purchased DAO UE from EA.com. It was just before they released DA2 and they were offering it online or by mail for $19.99. I decided to try the Download Manager option (which I didn't realize I needed until after I had purchased the software) and I will swear away from those download options forever now. Not to mention how slow their download servers were! Ridiculous!

So I ended up getting my money back from EA.com and bought it for the more expensive price of $34.99 at Gamestop. No problems as soon as I started using the CD's. Worked like a champ. The only thing I had to do was get someone from EA support to take out my old keys from Bioware.com and input my new keys correctly and away I went. All of my additional content came down like a champ.

Path of least resistance.

We recommend that users encountering difficulties with DLC authentication try our 1.05 BETA Patch.
