Fixed.

The fact it is a 9 seed is (censored) criminal.

It's unfortunate how much Nostalgia blinds most of these polls.

Okay first off that's really annoying when people do that, but I totally thought Deus Ex was 1999. Turns out it just squeezed into this decade. Hm, that is a contender, absolutely.

Still, my heart's with HL2.

Modern Warfare 2 or Kingdom Hearts is going to win, unfortunately.

Lol, what, Kingdom Hearts? Isn't that a game that keeps getting remade but is basically the same story line most of the time?

I totally voted. Will be interesting to see the results, haven't really hung aroung GameFAQs in a long time.

You are in desperate need of an education.

I don't mind if you don't like the game, but please don't spout ignorance.

Oh, I touched a nerve! Go me.

Guilty as charged.

Anyone who votes against Deus Ex in its upcoming battle with Fallout 3 should have their gaming card revoked.  Well, if I had the power to do so I would anyway.  And I liked Fallout 3 a lot.

Well its why Super Mario Bros. wins greatest game of all time every year at IGN and why X-COM ranks highest as their best PC game often. And those are blasted editors with their nostalgia.

Then again it might be different now, IGN seems to have replaced their editorial crew with a bunch of morons. No offense to morons.

Fortunately it doesnt include everything before the 2000's, because then the contest would be renamed "Ocarina or FF7"

Personally I'd easily pick Deus Ex over Fallout 3, but against, actually never mind I think I could vote for it against all of the competitors in that category.  Uncharted 2 might give me a pause, but not much of one I don't think.

It was amazing and revalutionary for it's time, however nostalgia aside it can be beaten in 10-15 minutes quite easily by even the most unskilled player and is filled with a lot of "GOTCHA MOMENTS" that are considered bad gaming nowadays. Miyamoto always saying he's ashamed of the game makes me want to pull my hair out (we know he's only saying that to be humble).

Its complete BS that Demon's Souls, Half-Life 2 and Metroid Prime were in the same division :(

Honestly I would always put the arcade version of Donkey Kong over Super Mario Bros. as it may be "harder" but it seemed more fair and IMO better designed.

No one have any comment on Dead Space?  That game is seriously underrated. I think its the best single-player, non-RPG, non-multiplayer game this generation.

Note: i said non-RPG, non-multiplayer.

How do they even determine which ones go into which division?

It is certainly good, and as far as presentation I would call it the best.  But I would have to place the game it follows quite closely in RE4 above it.

It completely destroys RE5 however.

Hmm, non-RPG, non-multiplayer... question first:  what if it has multiplayer, but that isn't its primary component or has an equally robust single player game?

I mean, like Europa Universalis III, Rome: Total War, or Football Manager 20XX all have multiplayer, but I wouldn't call it their focus.

Amazing for a playthrough, nothing more. I'm forcing myself to do a second playthrough and it's extremely hard to continue further, it's just... predictable. The atmosphere, interface and such is nice and all but I can guess when an enemy is going to show quite easily (since chapter 2 of my first playthrough :P).

Apparently none of you have ever played EOE: Eve of Extinction which was a far superior game for having the voice talents of Cam Clarke.

When i said multiplayer, i meant stuff like CoD4, which is one of my favourite games this generation, and my favourite multiplayer game. I like it for the multiplayer (single campaign is good, but...).

Dead Space wins No.1 for single player non-RPG.

Also, it was announced that Dead Space 2 will have multiplayer. Dont know what too think about that.
