eh, I usually go with Srikandi, especially if she's an archer, but who knows. I called my dwarf warrior in DA:J "Dyspepsia", because I had a bit of a tummy ache when I was making her. (Srikandi was a warrior princess who specialized in archery, and one of Arjuna's wives, in the Javanese version of the Mahabharata, and the name is still emblematic in Indonesian culture for a tough broad).

Wesley, because, like most of you, I've put effort as well as imagination into my character.
Wait, you put effort and imagination into your character, and then you call him Wesley? What's his backstory? That his parents hated him even before he was born?
Ha, I'll take that as a compliment from a guy who uses a religious Messiah's name as his username. Very original on your part. I have news for you, flames stopped being cool in the nineties.
What's your character's name, ShadowDragon? And his back story, I'm guessing, would be that his creator has a boring name in real life, like Steve, so he feels the need to be extravagant, because his parents were unimaginative. See? It's a vicious cycle.
Wesley is a name originating in the UK, like most of the names in Dragon Age i.e Alistair, Maric, Fergus... But you probably think they're stupid too, right? Pff.
I'll tell you what--if you can't do the research, I'm glad to help you out.
No no, his name is Sh4d0\\/\\/Dr4g0N and his parents were killed by orcs or something, then he swore revenge and went to a guy named DarthEvilFist and learned the secrets of the Shaolin, after which he totally flipped out and killed ten thousand orcs with all those secrets he learned, and he got 500 women from a king or some rich guy, but then his palace burned down so now he's dark and brooding or something, never talks actually, but he's good at heart and only wants to help people and stuff, then he became a pirate.
You know, something unique and new, with ninjas and pirates, maybe I'll put some robots in there for good measure.
And flames are always cool, he'll have flames and spikes on his armor, and paint the walls of his room black because he's a grown-up and doesn't have stupid parents that tell him not to!
And he flies off the handle and goes into full Chuck Norris mode if someone dares to make a little joke about his name.

Since I'll be handling two playthroughs at a time...
For the Cousland girl, Brenna (Gaelic for 'raven-haired'). Wanted something similar to her father's name (Bryce) that rolls easily off the tongue.
For the Amell guy, Thaddeus (Aramaic for 'heart'). And yes, a certain loser Dr. Venture has this as a first name as well
I am looking waaaay too much into this, but hey, it's part of the fun

My characters will all be named after famous people from the confederacy. I usually name my good character Jesus and my bad character Adolf, but I heard we don't just choose between two moral extremes anymore so the joke doesn't work anymore.

Human Noble: Nikephoros. Elf Mage: Eudoxia. Dwarf Noble: Theodoric. Dwarf Commoner: Amalasunta. City Elf: Zeno. Dalish Elf: Odovacer.
Nikephoros will be my first character. I'll probably play each Origin in the order above.

My first character will likely be a female human warrior named Leela (after the character in Doctor Who, not Futurama)... and will likely take a specialization later that gives her some rogue skills...

My character's name is Daedhe, which doesn't have any meaning at all. I just needed a name that sounded at least a little bit elfish.

I had wanted to name my first guy Aden, but since that's the default male name provided in the CC (just spelled differently), and I don't want my character to share the same name as dozens of other characters, I guess I'll have to go searching for a good names database somewhere.
If anyone has any suggestions for good sites to visit for names, I'm all ears

Probably this avatar's name. If not, something randomly generated. I like the random names most of the time because they are all roleplaying names and fit in the game.

My first character is always called Balraw (yup same as my forum name). It comes from a character I created way back in the days of pen and paper role playing

<- Rin, back-engineered translation of my name into Tolkien Elvish.
edit: It going well with the surname Surana is a nice plus as well.
