I've made 4 characters so far. Martin, Lassiter, Arathorn, and Mahannan. Have no idea which one I'll play first. I may not know till the 3rd of Nov.
<----- (Martin pictured here)
What are you going to name your first character?

Jamis tends to be the name I use for fantasy characters, so I'll start with that. I've been using it for like 6-7 years (since baldurs gate) and how I came up with it, lord knows

Human warrior noble, male : Stephen Cousland. Rolls off the tongue nicely and admitedly its a different spelling of my real name. I'll be sure to come up with something more original for my other characters though

Human male Noble Warrior: Ronan Cousland.
It's name I use for a knight/swordsman character I made, so I thought it would be fitting that I would play through Dragon Age more or less as him. I believe it's Gaelic in origin, but it's also similar to Ronin, i.e. the term for a Samurai without a lord. Ronan is supposed to be a wandering swordsman well versed in the knightly style, but without a lord himself, free to explore and go on adventures.
Dwarf female Commoner Rogue: Shara. I like Shana, but felt Shara would fit a Dwarf a little more.
Only two I've thought of so far.

Human Male Noble Warrior: Alexander Cousland.
Translates from Latin as "Defender" or "Defender of men". Guess where that ones going.

I've always played the same character through the years going back to old school ADnD ---> NWN2.
Azrael Bishop ~ Male Human / Tiefling ~ Rogue ~ Chaotic Neutral
Kind of an anti-establishment out for himself type proficient in stealth and ambush tactics.
For this game i'll need to come up with a bunch of names since the different origins lead to more replay value and experimentaion so here goes nothing...
Zealot ~ Female Elven Magi ~ Mage : Spirit Healer / Blood Mage (Healing / Spirit / Entropy)
Azrael ~ Male Human Noble ~ Rogue : Duelist / Assassin (Dual Wield)
Mjolnir ~ Male Dwarf Noble ~ Warrior : Templar / Champion (Sword & Shield)
Grendel ~ Male Dwarf Commoner ~ Warrior : Beserker / Reaver (Two Handed)
Kalypso ~ Female Dalish Elf ~ Rogue : Bard / Ranger (Archery)

I am curious how elven names sound in DA. I'll stick with default unless I can think of something better for most of them; My human-noble-rogue will be Rowan Cousland. I was considering "Starling" for my alienage elf warrior.

<----- this guy is my first character, Faizel Surana. Faizel is the alternate spelling of Faysal, which means 'Judge' in Arabic. It fits with his very rule oriented out look, although he's willing to deviate from that if he feels that someone else could be a more effective and orderly ruler.
