I had DAO installed and running with Blood Dragon Armour and Stone Prisoner DLC - no problem.

I have installed DAO ultimate Edition (from disc) and like others have the 'unauthorised content'  message on all DLC in my game downloaded content. Did all the log in etc and cannot load save games.
The install was over the top of the existing, same directory etc.

Checked out advice in 'Ultimate Edition and DLC unauthorised' posted by Fernando Melo above

Tried to run DAO content updater service.
Looked in 'services.msc' to manually start but cannot find 'Dragon Age:Origins-Content Update' listed.Posted Image

Can anybody advise what I do next - DA Update Service Diagnostic, reinstall game, look at reinstall Microsoft.Net Framework?

Thanks in advance

Thank's Fernando Melo.
Downloaded and ran the DAU Diagnostic.
Updater was not loaded, it loaded it for me and now all my DLC is authenticated.
Wonder why it did not load with the Ultimate Edition installation - oh well, happy days again Posted Image
Many thanks.

For lack of space, I had to reinstall ALL my Steam content on my other hard drive, DragonAge Origins included. When I finally tried the game after everything was reinstalled, I got the same problem.

Mine was that the DAUpdater service was still set for the C:/ path instead of the new E:/ one, and setting that back up on regedit.exe doesn't seem to do anything good. Plus the diagnostic thingie doesn't seem to like the idea of DragonAge being on any other folder than the one it's used to, even if I put it RIGHT in the same folder. That's a hassle...

I have been able to fix my problem. Following this link http://ladymoiraine....php?topic=418.0 , I managed to find out how to reinstall the proper path for DAupdatersvc.service.exe.

Prior to that, I had to remove the faulty service from the "service.msc" tool, by following this link (it might require good knowledge in DOS and stuff) http://www.theelderg..._windows_xp.htm . There's a workaround to that, just delete daupdatersvc in regedit.exe , reinstall it using Mithrin's instructions (and using the proper path to your setup for daupdatersvc.service.exe).

Be sure to follow Bioware's instructions before trying this one, especially if you're unsure of how to navigate in the Dos prompt or especially in the services.msc/regedit.exe tools.

****EDIT****
Forgot to mention that I did this using Windows XP, and the standard, STEAM digital edition of DragonAge: Origins. It might not fit for people who own Windows Vista or higher, or people who got a different version of DA:O, such as the newest Ultimate edition... You might want to check out posts that fit your version better first.

Thank you for the post! I've been looking for almost 3 days on a fix (due to the missing Updater) and this helped me fix the problem in just under a minute.

I believe I'm having the same problem for the exact same reason, but I can't seem to get a hold of the DA Updater Service diagnostic beta .exe file. I've been trying the link http://supportfiles....nostic_beta.exe posted in various other places around the troubleshooting site, but I consistently get a HTTP 404 error. This is the very last in a long line of fixes I've tried, so It should work... if I could ever download the diagnostic tool ><

There is a link right below the beta diagnostic tool which is unavailable that has instructions for installing the service on Win 7 in the Solutions Round-Up thread pinned to the top of this forum. The directions are essentially the same for any Windows install. If you require assistance, please see the Read First Before Posting thread also pinned to the top for posting instructions so that we will have enough information to help you. There is also a beta patch available that fixes the authorization issues but can cause long load times. Information is in the patch thread also pinned to the top of the forum.
