Hi everyone I'm hoping some of you hear can help me in my search for a mod they may or may not exist. I thought I remembered seeing a module that was a re-make of the NWN1 OC for the NWN2 engine awhile back not long after the NWN2 was released. I searched the vault a little bit and couldn't find anything of the sort. Now I might just be mistaken, but if not I'd like to know if anyone knows if this does exist? thanks!
and if anyone knows of a re-make of SoU and/or HoTU that would be even more cool!
NWN1 OC a NWN2 Module?

Only the prologue was remade.
Most likely because the NWN OC was pretty bad.

It's a matter of opinion. The game received generally positive reviews. Still, if somebody did a remake, it would be a good opportunity for improvements.
Of the three modules, I probably enjoyed SoU the most.

Ahh I see. thanks for the responses! Ya I didn't think the OC from NWN1 was amazing or anything, but it generally left me satisfied and wanting me to keep playing on. Oh well.

Actually I remember the project was squished by Bioware. The prologue was fine as it was part of the beta and demo, but I seem to remember some chatter about ceasing and desisting development of remakes of the OC. I could be wrong however...wouldn't be the first time, nor the last...

I was always happy with the NWN OC, It was all so new at the time for me, coming from the mock 3D of BG and IWD. Now I think it might not stand the test of time as a story. The later releases were much better IMO.
As for a remake? I would say why. There are very many very good mods out there to play, both in service and incoming. Go to the NWN OC to play it as it was and enjoy it for that, then download something new and play that too.
Look at Mokahs screenines on the old forums and Knightmares vids (go on, post some more, tease us!), there is a taste of what is to come. Check out the top 15 mods on the vault; there is some realy good stuff there.
There is soooo much creativity and skill in this community, my personal view is that it would be a shame to expend the few toolset hours we can spend on remaking something from the NWN stable. I see much excitement on the BG remake and perhaps that is justified (I'm going to play it, and I suspect, enjoy it immensly
). But there is also a part of me that thinks, if these talented people created somthing new, what would that be like?
Sometimes I try to step back and look at the community I have entered. I dont diversify enough to know if other games have this strong a following, and this good a back log of very playable custom content. but it seems to me that it's looking good for the future of NWN2 for those who choose to play it and we don't need to be looking back.
Sorry this is off topic migviper. I hope you have found the answers you seek.

Well, one good reason for a remake is that BioWare wasn't really able to do it right the first time through. Floating around somewhere on the intertubes is one of the writer's original design documents for the NWN OC, and the plot outlined therein both makes a lot more sense and seems a lot more interesting.
A second reason would be to incorporate the technical advancements of the NWN2 + expansions, in particular true companions instead of henchmen, better exterior areas, and the overland map (or even world map). Geography was important in the OC, with Luskan forces marching south to Neverwinter and all, but the original NWN couldn't really portray that geography in any meaningful way.
True, any team of builders capable of remaking the OC probably has better, original stories to tell, but some of us who lost our NWN1 cds long ago would like to run through a fresh re-imagining for nostalgia's sake, and I'm some sure newcomers might like to see the old city torn apart by plague and war, just to understand what the fuss is all about. Maybe they should just do a parody of the OC instead, to get around the whole copyright thing. Might be fun, someone might as try it.

Remaking the NWN1 OC would be pointless, cuz its the plot/story/gameplay that needed to be remade most.

nwn1 while good and all, had some issues..... namely we should not have been able to kill Obould.... he was busy elsewhere, and Kluath wasn't big enough to be worth while......
sides that, well if someone were to remake it, u se the nwn2 neverwinter... I didn't like how the nwn1 went and did it, but thats me.
