The only real problem I had was the paint job and seeing cerberus's logo everywhere. For ME3 I'm hoping for something a little more privateer in style, something that shows Shepards' independence of the council and cerberus.
Agreed. I would love to repaint it. My Shepard still doesn't like Cerberus at all. Using the resources for the good cause is fine with him, but Paragon as he is, he hates the fact that everyone thinks he's working for Cerberus. After all, all he's trying to do is to save the whole Galaxy!

Bah! SR-2 pisses me off just because it wastes so much space with unnecessary things. Thought this was meant to be a warship not a luxury cruiser!
But yeah...it still looks better than the original.
TIM was planning on using it as a sex yacht once Shepard was done with the collectors.

They both have pros and cons. I can't really say one is better than the other. :I

On higher end computers, the loading time to go to deck 01 can be less than a second.
Mid range to, especially engineering and cpts qauters.

Low end computers can take a while though. I went from playing it on a crappy computer to an awesome computer loaded like 30 seconds to 1 or 1.5 minutes on the crappy one and now it loads like Blink of an eye.

1.The dark blue ambient lightning,
2.The background music,
3.The consoles that can be heared on The CIC.
This all gives be the feel that i'm on a military spaceship, with a much more efficient layout for a warship, not some luxery ship with reflecting floors.
Image that on the SR2 a crewman needs to man the CIC during a combat situation and another one needs to report to engineering, as the only way down there is through the elevator, which means that one crewman needs to wait before he can reach his station.
And the Drive core on the SR1 was way better.

SR2 was a mile better, though. It might be devoid of the soul or intimacy that the SR1 had, but that's what I would expect from Cerberus, anyway. That's also what the devs were shooting for originally, so I congratulate them on that.

Just pointing out that there were multiply ways to each level of the ship mostly the maintanence/emergency access hatches we know about from the joker mission but assuming in combat the SR 2 has the same protocol as alliance vessels, meaning they shut the Artificial Gravity off(codex ME 1), then travel is not a big deal and the elevator would be rendered inoprable anyway. So there must be some other access, aside from emergency access, That We can't see. Or it's at least resonable to assume there is why BW ommitted this anyones guess but i blame the lack of elevator style loading on the lack of stairs.

SR1 is better looking and more fun to run around IMO. Of course ME2's graphics are better, but the layout of the SR2 is a pain to run around. The SR1 has doors that look like people would use, not large cargo-bay-like doors on every deck. The maze of doors behind the CIC and the lack of a armor customization station in the armory is another thing I hold against the SR2. I also prefer the atmosphere on the SR1 as the SR2 seems too sterile for my tastes.
I agree with this, actually.
Another thing I liked about the SR1 interior was that its design and atmosphere made it feel much more like a military vessel. It captured the aesthetic look and darkness of a submarine, which is what the devs originally envisioned when they were concepting Mass Effect, rather than looking like the inside of a luxury crusier (aka Enterprise-D/SR2).
It set the interior of the SR1 apart from what has been seen in other popular sci-fis like Star Trek and Firefly. I liked it a lot. Even though the SR2 was an improvement in terms of size and visuals... it just feels modular, grey and inorganic. Again, though, it's Cerberus's creation, and not the Alliance's. Which is why the lack of an intimate atmosphere works: it's a bastardized version of the original Normandy with a leather finish.
