Anyone think the inisde of the Normandy SR-2 is much better looking than Normandy SR-1?

Hm, I really liked the blue colors and the dim lighing of the SR1. Also, the more cramped feeling made you aware that every inch aboard a spaceship costs huge amounts of money and therefore everything has to be streamlined (not TWO observation decks, a bar, captains quarters, etc).

But I get it, he SR2 was not developed by the alliance, it is technically not a warship but a special prototype vessel that escapes classification.

I liked the science lab though. Oh and I hope for ME3, they put an armor station into the armory.

My heart will always stay in the SR1. After replaying ME1 countless times, I've grown so attacked to it. I like the SR2, but the SR1 makes me feel so much more nostalgic.

SR1 for me. Makes me feel like I'm in a military stealth recon ship with the music theme, ambient sounds from the CIC and the drive core was good looking too.

SR2 is not that bad, I would have liked it more if it weren't for the loading screens and the luxury feel in it.

On higher end computers, the loading time to go to deck 01 can be less than a second.

Mid range to, especially engineering and cpts qauters.

Loading time is not an issue with me, it's the blanking to a loading screen, even ever so quickly, that I despise.  I run top tier hardware with a big SSD to reduce load times as much as possible.  I dislike all loading screens and would much rather actually walking between decks or elevator rides than instantly teleporting to the next floor after flashing a load screen.

I prefer the interior of the SR-2 to the the one in the SR-1 ( I also prefer the exterior of the SR-2 to the SR-1 ). I do have one minor complaint though, the SR-2 is supposed to be almost twice as big as the SR-1 but I don't really see it in the interior.

I prefer the interior of the second Normandy just because it has more stuff. Kitchen nook, first officer's quarters (formerly where the captain's cabin had been), life support room, gunnery room, engineering deck, etc. The only thing I miss from the first Normandy is the conference room, which for some reason I prefer to the new one. Maybe because it had chairs.

Actually that brings up the issue I wish they would fix for ME3. Actually make the Normandy interior fit how it should in the hull of the ship.  the run from the galaxy map to joker in the CIC would be much longer, the CIC would not open up toward the back as it does, instead just gradually widening over the length of the ship. The lower decks would be trimmed in quite the same manner, with maybe less floors given the constraints of the Normandy model.  As far as all these bits go, SR1's interior was closer to the size of its exterior than SR2 was, though still not quite there.

The SR-1 felt like a pursuit vessel, the SR-2 feels like a command frigate. They both have their roles, but I'd say I prefer the crew chatter to the music and being able to go from engineering to my quarters in a single loading screen to the hand-cranked elevator.

I will need to have a talk with Miranda about the amount of operational budget allocated to pillows, however.

My thoughts exactly. The same problem also occurs in hubworlds, as all of the them (except Afterlife) are completely silent.

I would disagree. Just because there is no music, it doesnt mean they are silent. You can actually hear environmental sounds for a change, people talking, news with realistic reverb effect, and then there is the diegetic music from the clubs/bars ofcourse. ME1 has almost permanent non-diegetic sound, which together with the music style gives it a very unique and memorable atmosphere. However, ME2 doesn't do anything wrong by letting the environments breathe and let their own soundscapes shine. The sound in ME2 is something that as opposed to other design decisions, specially regarding level design, still makes it quite immersive/atmospheric at times. This also applies to the Normandy. You can hear the humming of machinery, that gives the feeling of beeing on a spaceship. Some more background dialogue between crewmembers even non understandable mumbling would have been nice though.

I'm not saying either one(ME1 or ME2 sound) is better. But ME2 certainly has a very sophisticated sound design, that makes more controlled use of non-diegetic sounds and otherwise uses diegetic sounds quite effectively.
