Dragon Age: EXPLOITS HAVE GONE TOO FAR!

For both Dragon Age: Origins and Awakening, you can exploit the game to acheive unlimited approval, unlimited money, unlimited items, unlimited experience, etc. These exploits are ruining the game! What makes it worse is that these exploits are easily figured out and easily abused. see: http://dragonage.wik...m/wiki/Exploits ---

The one that bothers me the most is the money exploit, allowing you to sell something for twice the amount when you (for PC) press down both the left and the right mouse button and drag it to sell like normal. (alternativly, you can also "clone" items by selling it twice using this method as well when you have a stack of 2x or more --- as noted in the dragon age wiki)

These exploits ruin my gaming experience --- Knowing that they exist makes it hard for me to play and hard for me to play the game WITHOUT using them--- They are too easy and too exploitable to pass up... This eventually makes me feel bad about "cheating" and I restart the game, vowing to not exploit again but always ending up doing it...

Be that as it may, these exploits are still glitches in the game that should be fixed regardless if I use them and regardless of my emotional ties to them.

I don't care how they are fixed, but something must be done.

The glitches, to me, DEVALUE the extra quests used for money--- they are worthless to do when you can get all you want through a simple exploit.

Think of it like this-

What if you were trying to solve a jigsaw puzzle and figured out that on the back side of each peice there is a number and all you have to do is put the peices in corresponding order? It ruins the fun of the game-- makes it worthless... Why even do the puzzle when you can "cheat" by looking at the numbers on the back? No one wants to know that there game has an exploit in it---

Ummm... so don't use them. I noticed one exploit that is still in the game, the free xp you get for entering the area with The Risen Andraste, every single time. I noticed that and made sure I only zoned into that area the minimum number of times necessary to complete the section.

Obviously, in a perfect world, these exploits wouldn't exist and neither would any other bugs or glitches. But they are far from "ruining" the game. LOL, it's not hard to exercise a little self control in these matters.

God doesn't choose for you, hence the term "free will".

No i'm not implying having evidence of a god.

Of course there are also in-game ways to do these "exploits" as well. Craft and sell potent lyrium potions and you'll make more than you spent. Give to your allies for all the XP you need. So it's not like the corresponding glitches are all that earth shatteringly game breaking.

It's a single player game, you've got the choice in the matter. I have the feast day gifts that I can use for unlimited approval, doesn't mean I'll use them.

Sounds as if someone could use the Self Discipline DLC, as I am familiar with this problem too. Generally, once you use the exploit and it ruins the game for you in some way, you should then have enough motivation to avoid it in future play.

Example: I try and stay away from the Feastday DLC gift items now, or at leat wait until I have gone past the critical paths with each NPC, or I will ruin sidequests, romances, etc. Just remember how much fun it was before you learned of the exploit, and this should stay your hand on the trigger.

you all don't understand--- These are glitches and they should be adressed! You can pretend that they don't exist, but they still do... They need to be fixed or else !

It's a single player game, who cares about that really? It isn't a game with competitive multiplayer that requires extensive balancing to be fun or anything.

Ideally, glitches like these should be fixed, yes. But considering it's a single player game and you choose whether or not you're going to use them, they're not high priority. The only thing required to avoid them is a little willpower. There are many other things I'd much rather see fixed far sooner than these.

Funnily enough I had to use the feast day gifts/pranks to get Leliana to the appropriate approval so I could do her side quest. I have the 360 version so there's no way for me to console command it so it works. I'm glad I was able to fix it as she's in my party and that bow you get on her side quest is really good.

It does not matter if this is a SINGLE player game---

There is nothing wrong with wanting a glitch fixed---

It ruins my experience even if it doesn't for you.

well, if ignoring it is not enough, how about "suck it up"?

You just love to ignore the claims of people who have complaints ---

Yeah, some people have a problem with the game...

Just because you don't and can look past stuff does not mean it should not be fixed.

You look like a wannabe elitist with your "I got the collector's edition" mumbo signature

You can also take your computer and throw it out of the window. This not only ruins your game experience, but also your computer and the car parked below your window. The ability to do so is a glitch and should be addressed.

Such a good logical response...

Filled with logic- oh yes.

I am sure someone out there agrees---

Sheesh express a harmless opinion and everyone is down your throat about it?

The key here is since it's a single player game, even if you do use these glitches to your advantage, you're not affecting anyone but yourself. No, there's nothing wrong with wanting a glitch fixed, but the reality of the situation is these are not game-breaking issues, nor are they serious enough to affect the game play unless you choose to exploit them.

I think the issue here is people are confused at why you would claim these things riun your experience when you're the one that controls whether or not you exploit them.

Yes, they could be fixed, but ultimately, you have complete control over whether or not these glitches/exploits will affect your game. There is no situation that occurs in the game where you are forced to use these exploits. It's completely under your control.

As noted earlier, there are many other issues that are higher priority than these exploits. Most people would far rather see them addressed first.

*edit* fixed spelling and spacing.

You, harmless opinion? The same person who has already started two threads today about how racist Bioware and Kevin Lynch apparently are, for no logical reason whatsoever.

Obvious troll is obvious.

Actually from perusing that wiki link, I can accurately say that just about  all of them HAVE been addressed  and fixed -  at least on the PC version.

The only ones that haven't are the potent lyrium potion and elfroot exploits.  Which aren't glitches at all.  (who's to say you shouldn't try to make a  profitable  living as a herbalist by making potent lyrium potions and selling them?  And who says you shouldn't be rewarded for supplying your armies with huge quantities of the supplies they need?)

I don't know about the 'clone' glitch, but the money exploit glitch still exists.
