I'm posting to let people know that I'm leaving the NWN community and ceasing development of all of my NWN projects, as of today. I realise this isn't exactly important news, but since I released and helped various people out with quite a number of mods and projects, I figured it'd be better to take my leave somewhat "officially" to avoid confusion and minimise any "will you update ..." or "I need help with ..." e-mail I might otherwise receive.
I won't discuss the reasons why unless pressed to do so, but I've posted a (slightly) lengthier explanation on my blog, for the sake of the brave few who were following my module/PW project.
Apologies are owed to those who were relying on me in some fashion for help with their own projects, and to anyone who'd contacted me about producing content for them which now won't materialise. Sorry.
Finally, because anything less would seem inappropriate, I've left you with a small collection of new content, for the NWN community's free and unrestricted use.
Download from:
NWVault (Not approved yet at the time of posting.)
My Webspace (Please use the NWVault link instead, once it's approved.)
Thanks for all the fun, NWNers.
Happy playing/modding,
Ben
Farewell, NWN

It's sad to see you go, and disappointing to see the apparent end of your PW project - but in the end it's whats best for you and for your art that matters. And you never know, a change of scenery could do a world of good if you find the right environment to develop the End Times in.
So thank you for all your contributions to the community (which are much greater than you'd ever admit to) and good luck, wherever the road takes you.

If this isn't important news, I don't know what is (at least as far as the NWN community is concerned). Your AME nomination for community contribution was well deserved and it's sad to see you go. Your talent, community spirit and modesty will be sorely missed.
Thanks for all you've done for the NWN community and good luck with whatever you've decided move on to!

Much thanks Ben for all you've done to help fill in some of the gaps of missing CC for NWN, you'll be sorely missed. The voice of reason you brought to a number of discussions, was refreshing and enlightening the community may miss that more then anything!
Best wishes and good luck!

Sorry to see you go Ben. Thanks for all the work and help you have given over the years.
I hope TET manifests itself on some (non NWN) level. You no doubt put a lot of work into it. The game itself sounds very interesting and would love to play it.
Cheers and good luck!

Sorry to see you leave. My own departure was forced, and I hope to return sometime. But you have helped make the NWN Community a better one by your inclusion, and you will be missed.
All the best!

Ben
Your digital contributions have been nothing short of superb. Clearly you will be missed for them.
Your level headedness, honesty, intergrity and calming demeanor will be missed even more. Over the years as flareups of community ego and opinions occured you were always calm, reasonable and tried to difuse the situation ; find middle ground. I can think of 3 or 4 very important such posts off the top of my head be if q/cep, cep2, single player modules, etc Thank you for that above all as it was hardly recognized at the time.
If there be some corner of Asgard reserved for digital warriors ; I am sure I will recognize you at Ragnarok. Look for me - I will wield the sword of community player campaigns.

Ben, farewell and take care.
After reading your bolg, I'm left to wonder about a few things...
- Are you quiting Modding all togerther or just for NWN?
- What is the "too much of a sacrifice, for too much of a compromise"?
I'm just curious for the sake of conversation.

As someone relatively new to the NWN community and all of the incredible modding and custom content here, I am still at the stage of discovering all the cool things one can do with NWN and excited about newer things still to come. You have created much here that many will enjoy for a long time to come. But, I understand that sometimes you feel like you have done all that you reasonably can within a given system. And, of course, there are always other reasons that people may have to move on to other things...
Maybe some day, you will get the urge to do some more in with NWN and know that "never say never" is a good motto. Best wishes to you in whatever direction your future endeavors take.

What the heck!?? I've been unable to stop by for a while and I come back to see this!

Ah, I wish it weren't so, Ben. I, like so very many others, am sad to hear this news and know that I will miss your presence in the community. However, I believe I can understand the frustration you may have felt lately and hope that your future projects will instead bring you great satisfaction. I wish you health, happiness, and success -- oh, and lots of fun in whatever new games you may choose. Fare thee well, good Mr. Harrison.
