Ok that got your attention!^_^

Reposted from this thread,

Gamespot's "Hot Spot" Podcast from today. Interview with Dr. Ray Muzyka starts at about the 1 hour 22 minute 30 second mark. Nothing really new- they ask some good  questions, but Ray is quite good at saying a whole lot without saying  very much.

2 quotes of note.  First, at the 1 hour 32 minute mark:

(On a discussion of WRPGs vs. JRPGs)

There's certainly action games that have alot of RPG features. There's action RPG's that are more clearly, like, you know they're action games than RPGs.I think Dragon Age 2 would probably fit into that category. And there are games that are more clearly pure RPGs in the old school way, maybe some JRPGs are more that way

And then bluntly stating it at the 1 hour 46 minute mark:

You press a button something awesome happens. Its an action RPG. I mean, who would have imagined that?

Indeed, Dr. Ray, indeed. Who would have imagined that? [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/angry.png[/smilie]

I'd advise listening to the whole thing to try and get some context, as Ray goes into some detail on what he views as important in an RPG and all that. But make of this what you will.:wizard:

A reminder that calling people names is not and never will be acceptable on these forums. If you can't get your point across without being combative, then you'll be taking a short vacation, and perhaps longer if you still don't get the idea.

Let's be civil, folks.

Let's cut out the whole 'casual players/hardcore players' business, not to mention the attempt to draw lines in the sand based on what genre someone prefers.

It doesn't contribute to useful discussion and it's unnecessarily antagonistic. If you feel the need to engage in that kind of debate, I'll ask you to take it elsewhere.

Thank you.
