I have always (up until this point) imported a warden from Origins when I played Awakening. However, I decided to try playing as an Orlesian warden this time around. I was wondering what the default fate of the Hero of Ferelden was when you start a new character. I assume they're dead but I haven't run across any information that confirms this.

Yes, making an Orlesian Warden-Commander assumes the Ultimate Sacrifice ending with Alistair on the throne.

Just a thought that just popped into my head while reading this, you don't think Alistair is also King WITH Queen Anora on the throne if you just start with the Orlesian Warden-Commander, do you? Because if you do make them marry, Alistair will still be the one to meet you. I don't remember if there was anything in the dialogue that mentions of them marrying.

I doubt Bioware put that much thought into it considering the combination of endings and choices. I'm sure it's simply meant to be ambiguous to please everyone. So those who want Anora to rule beside Alistair will get to believe she is...and those who don't will believe Alistair rules alone. We'll never know for sure. lol

I usually have Alistair marry Anora during Origins, but in Awakening, I don't recall anyone/thing mentioning her. I assume the only way to get her to make an appearance is for Anora to rule alone.

Sort of...If you let Al leave or have him executed AND are HNM that asks for her hand...then she will be the one to greet you at the Keep
