I'm trying to create a healer companion for my module, and no matter how hard I try, I cannot seem to create wizard companion with a Heal spell. I've tried setting various package AIs to Wynne's... I've tried add the Heal spell explicitly... but every time the companion joins the party he has the same three spells: Flame Weapon, Weaken, and Arcane Bolt.

Anyone have any success at doing this without creating a custom "hire follower" script (like here http://social.biowar...llower_tutorial) ?

In order to do that, you must follow the advanced part follower tutorial and create a custom autolevel scheme, which levels the character for you before s/he joins. Then you can choose your character to have the heal spell.

The creature editor has some stupid things meaning nothing, like the class or spells/skills/talents.

Isn't it possible to get the companion to level using Wynne's scheme without using the advanced part of the tutorial?

Well, I guess the custom script supplied in the tutorial works so I'll use that. Hope it doesn't accidentally break anything.

As far as I can tell, setting the pacakage stuff for companions only gets them the specialization classes.

Be careful with using tutorial prefixes, if someone who does changes their script for some reasson, the scripts will wage war aginst each other and the result will be messy.

[your steamapps folder]\\commons\\dragon age origins\\tools\\source\\2DA\\ will have the .xls files for the Autolevel packages, those will give the character the starting talents/spells and atrribute points, and what the game should do if you want to "autolevel" your character. I suggest modifying Winne's AL (ALWynne.xls) and change some of it to make it the companion you want. Wynne is weak when it comes to primal magic actually, so I would suggest that you make your mage put some of their points in there...but little does it matter if you have your character in Lothering or something.
