Ugh, oh well. Can't please everyone.

Yup, you never will. But I for one wouldn't want to live in a world where you can,  imho discourse is an essential part of society or any kind of community for that matter.

Facebook, aw come on why the heck do you have to do it on facebook. I don't want people I know getting spammed with farmville like updates about my playing this game. I specifically don't play games on there for that reason. Why couldn't you just make a web version like the last one. Booooooooooooooooooo.

This is an interesting idea. I planned to try it already just to see what it is like, but if I can earn items for DA2, I am going to crush this game.

Do the email address for my Facebook account and my Bioware account have to be the same?

I consider this an admirable opportunity to try out Facebook's new "Groups" idea. Dear ol' Zuckerberg and co. do seem to be aware that a number of people despise this type of spam....sorry, don't like to receive updates that they don't feel are personally relevant or interesting, and so hopefully that feature will help people to segregate their real friends from their Legends fans (and never the twain need meet).

If that doesn't work as intended, then...bugger. :?

Well...I've just done it anyway.  Signed up a bogus account and signed up for the Beta.

BUT I FLATLY refuse to do anything more with Facebook.  No friends, no profile information. NOTHING!

More EA corruption. Glad to hear Bioware is for sale to the highest bidder...

Well, I don't use Facebook, so no luck there.

@ Evil Chris Priestly

Any idea if there will be other promotions before the launch requiring only EA / BioWare Social accounts? A simple yes or no would do.

Blast it, Facebook? I quite enjoyed Journeys too. Kept me busy while visiting rels with only my laptop and mobile internets for company.

Oh well, no free lewts for me then.

I'd have to see what the bonuses are before I sell my soul to the devil.

But for now, for shame Bioware, for shame....

What's so wrong with facebook?.. Anyway, signed up, not sure if I'll have time to play or not, though. Also, shame on me, but I had no idea this forum existed. I thought it still only had the General Discussion one!

does this mean the end of development for DA: journeys? because that game seems to be forgotten by everyone.

Thats what I'm wondering.  I'm guessing that Journeys Chapter 2 (previously entitled "The Darkness Within") has been changed to this.  Eh, no big deal.  I rather enjoyed Journeys and the free unlockable items, so I'm glad they're continuing the trend here.

I will not conceal the fact that I deplore Facebook. I just think it's this over hyped pop-culture nightmare that has time and time again caused more problems for people then anything beneficial. That said? I know I will be creating a Facebook account for Dragon Age Legends. Perhaps it's a bit hypocritical, but, I just can't pass up the chance to obtain some extra Gear/Loot/Items from the get go.

When this was done for DAO I think it worked fairly well (afer the bugs were worked out) and I can see why Facebook would want to work with BioWare to reap the rewards this mini-game will net with attention from the Fanbase and gamers just coming into the fold. I won't be signing up for the Beta though. I was a part of the Beta for the last DA mini-game and the glitches were just too frustrating. So, once the kinks are ironed out, I will be there, Facebook Account in hand. Looking foward to seeing what the game/story is all about.

I closed my facebook account a while ago(don't ask), but I've made another just for this game. Hopefully I won't get cyber stalked this time.

Thank you Bioware! I knew the new DAJ was coming out eventually, I can't wait to see why Shale is in 2D!
