This will do so good to my postgrad studies. I have already made up excuses for March why I do not leave the house:

"I have a trip so I cannot attend lecture today" Oh yea? Where will you travel then? "Ahem. Kirkwall. Small place. You wouldn't know it".

Funnily enough, there is a small town called Kirkwall in the Orkney Islands north of Scotland. Looks like a pretty concrete excuse :P

As I read through these posts, I am sort of shocked people are not thanking Bioware for a FREE game and the opportunity to participate in beta. No, people are complaining about facebook. A service you can sign up for in 30 seconds with all fake information and a throw-away email address.

Seriously Bioware Social Network, cry less.

Agreed, starting a facebook account is not hard. I'm also happy that we'll get a free game to whet our appetites a little.

I found DA:Journeys to be quite enjoyable- hopefully Legends will be similarly fun (in a free online game sort of way).

I'm not sure I'll sink this low to get some items which aren't needed to get a full game experience.

Yup! I have bumped into that place during my archaeology studies when I studied Viking occupation in UK and Ireland. My excuse is indeed as my personal hero Arnold Schwarzenegger says "soliiid" :D

- except if they ask me to elaborate, but then again definition of Archaeology is: if you do not know , make it up and by following this guideline I should smoothly avoid the trap (combined with trap making IV).

And to the original topic before I get carried away again with this random typing:

I signed up for this without hesitation. It would be foolish from EA and Bioware not to incorporate games into Facebook - its a great tool for games and in general firms. No matter how much you kick and scream the marketing is an important part of the producing games - and that revenue you shall as a consumer see in the quality of games you play.

I have a great idea, next BioWare should make a game for the Kinect. "Dragon Age: The Griffon Wars" it would be set way back when the griffons were still around (or during a mysterious/convenient return). We could feed them, groom them, and take them into battle. We would stand in front of the TV and flap our arms like wings to fly. We could kick to scratch with our "talons" and spit to cast epic magic fire blasts. We could hold online matches to battle all our online "friends" it would be EPIC!! To make it better, we should get bonus items for our Griffons for every 100 people we spam for EA! *end of sarcasm*

That pretty much expresses how I feel about BioWare being shoved into making games for facebook. No matter how great the bonus items may be (which I highly doubt they are), I will never sign up for facebook. If I cared about having internet "friends" (I know how to use a phone if I want to talk to my real friends) I sure as heck wouldn't spam them just to advertise for EA. Besides, the Bazaar spaming left a bad taste in my mouth that just hasn't gone away yet (not that I'm not grateful for the free stuff, that was awesome...just not all the spam floating around). And yes, I know that Griffons don't spit fire.

Quick question: this isn't going to be one of those games that requires you to have X number of "friends" send you crap to win the game to get in-game DA2 content, is it?

I also don't understand why you just don't incorporate Dragon Age Legends on your own Bioware SocialNetwork. Why put all the effort into this site just to push us over to Facebook?

Simple, everyone on bioware socialnetwork are already fans and will be getting DA2. By puttin DA Legends on Facebook, you target a whole new "market place" . People who might not even of heared about DA. But if everyone invites a friend to play on facebook, they will be increasing the amount of people that  learn of DA faster then on bioware socialnetwork..

What does this mean for the long time in development second chapter of Dragon Age Journeys?

Judging by the art style and screen shots, this is DAJ2, its just integrated into Facebook and renamed Legends. I don't think DALegends is going to be like Farmville where there is a required social element. I also doubt that DALegends will have a persistent story carry over from DAJ.

However, I do remember seeing a screen shot of Shale in DAJ2 a few months back. I would love to see Shale in DALegends!

This must be biowares revenge for complaining about how they get the staff and belt code fixed.

Sounds similar to Dragon Age Journeys.

Again with the unlocking of items for the main game releasing a couple of months later.

From what I understand, this is the second chapter of DAJ.

Wouldn't like to join facebook, so I kind of hope the game wont be too good, so I can resist its lures. ;)

I don't suppose there will be another way to play this game? I refuse to use facebook simply due to major holes in security in the way the site is ran. I love all things dragon age, but I just can't bring myself to touch facebook.

I have a bad feeling that this game will have promotionals that I will miss out on due to not using facebook.

Chris, do we need to create a Facebook account to play this? I mean... does the player info have to match up? I might check it out more seriously if I can just hija-.. erm, I mean borrow someone else's Facebook in combo with my EA/Bioware sign in.

Also, any word if we'll be getting any more DA books from David or the other writers?

Oh, well, I guess I never got all the promo items for DAO either. I suppose I could make an account under a fake name, but I don't really like the idea of linking it to my BioWare social ID.

(Having FaceBook under your real name is not advisable if there's a stalker you're trying to avoid.)

It'd be nice that when one uses their EA account to sign up for something (newsletter, beta, etc.) if we could receive a note in our e-mail box that says "Thanks for registering, you've been added to our database!" just so we are sure it all worked. I think the reason I haven't received anything from EA is due to the region-issues and have since set myself up through the US website to create a master EA ID thingy. Still haven't received any newsletters or the Staff of Parlathan but hopefully I'm still set up to try this out.

I love Facebook (been using it since it was a college students-only sort of hang out) and most games have been a total waste of time so far but I see it as a great promotional medium for the modern age. Can't wait to participate in this, yes, that's right I'm not one of those "Boo FB sucks how dare you make something optional for FB!" people.

I'm one of those "I left Facebook years ago" who "wouldn't go back if you paid me" but "kudos to Bioware for branching out with their brand" people.

Oh dear lady no! Not another Facebook game! I will get glued to the PC! My keys will get hidden beneath cushions and never again will I find socks that match!

But seriously though, it sounds fun, I just don't wanna go into another FB game addiction.

I find it a little odd that people have friends urging them to create a Facebook, but the thing that finally gets them to do it are some odds and ends in an rpg. Don't you guys like your friends?

The website blurb at one point calls it "Dragon Age Journeys" by mistake -- is this a revamped, Facebook-ized version of that game?

So, does the typo indicate that this is basically the same game revamped, or what?

I honestly really dont like the idea of a face book game being used to unlock things in the DA campain..

face book games have WAY to many privacy issues for my taste..  Id hate to think that i would have to play one of those games just to get extra content for DA2..

Id rather pay 5 bucks..  than get it for free playing some face book game..

Please consiter a pay option if your truely intent on making FB unlock stuff..  I beg you..
