My all-time favorite FPS was Aliens Online. I really wish they'd make an updated version (WITHOUT ADDING PREDATORS).

Allegiance was probably my second favorite with probably the best cooperative gameplay I've ever experienced.

Left4Dead was another fun one, but the match system needs to be refined using some sort of ratings system so you can play against people of your own skill level, otherwise lots of games end with one side raging.

Natural Selection looks like a mix of Aliens Online and Allegiance. Will have to look into it.

In fact I say Tribes 2 is the best game ever made.

Well, I suppose a lot of people will be infected then.  Part of me thinks Black Ops will outsell MW2.  I won't be buying it though.  I'm sick of FPS again.

I, personally, don't believe it will but I wouldn't be surprised if it did.. I think it'll get damned close, but I can't see it hitting MW2's numbers for a short while. I think Treyarch are to Infinity Ward what Obsidian are to BioWare in that their name is associated with the "lesser" titles (World at War to IW's Modern Warfare), potentially through no fault of their own.

We'll see, though.

I'm surprised nobody else has mentioned the more realistic/serious shooters like Operation Flashpoint or Arma2, say. Especially on a bioware forum ! Cod ?? Really ppl ?? You can do better than that, no ? It's a kids game, for gods sake. lol.

CoD and Medal of Honor got old a LONG time ago.. I like FPSes but the war games are drawn out so much I just ignore the whole thing.
