Well that's disappointing, I just saw the whole thing and you don't see any of Lothering destruction, or Gwaren or the ride to Kirkwall, just a slideshow tapestry that skips straight to Kirkwall. I thought we'd see Gwaren at least.
On a side note, Carver WAS alive at the end meaning he can survive.

A really well done slideshow tapestry cutscene. While I woulda liked to have seen Gwaren, the rest I'm fine doing without.

If nothing else there appears to be "Move To" order for companions in the console version as well as "Hold Position" for individual characters, and they both seem to work.Dave of Canada wrote...
Even if it's the exaggerated portion, the radial wheel looks improved and this makes me happy.

were you really expecting to see all that in a demo though?

I really doubt they made that whole cutscene tapestry specifically for the demo. It just cuts to Kirkwallnightcobra8928 wrote...

Which is fine with me. It means they focused the art direction and resources on new lands and not another Ferelden town (Gwaren and Lothering) or what was probably written to be an uneventful boat ride.

could also be what varric tells cassandra after you play the segment itself, like a summary.

Is it my impression or did it seem much closer to Origins than previous footage. I mean, they are using pause and abilities just like in Origins.
They've always said that they really haven't changed the combat systsem from DA:O all along pretty much.

Because they finally filmed further into the demo than the first few minutes where the game actually plays normally, this footage alone PROVES that the "sky is falling" attitude is overreaction.

From that link gurrock posted you can navigate your way to the rogue vid, hehe.
Watching it, it looks exactly like Origins on the console but improved. Huzzah for people overreacting.
Yeah, pretty much, though I have to agree with earlier posters, what's up with the way he's holding those weapons?

Yeah, I giggled when I saw Hawke just standing there.

Edit: I seriously hope PC users aren't stuck with that interface (I don't think we will be). But omg, yeh, it will be watching Hawke, not BEING Hawke.
Ah well, I'm not surprised. It looks action-y, the animations look good though wow do females sway their butts. It certainly does not look like DA:O. And the dialog wheel interface looks exactly how I envisioned it would.
I'm sure DA2 will be a good game. But it really appears to be quite different.
Thank you for posting that. Really, BW should allow this to be shown -- it shows, once and for all, that the marketing buzz words really are accurate. There's no more argument really. Some people will love this. The original audience they were going for by claiming it's the spiritual successor to BG2, though, is being left behind.

These still aren't videos of the PC version, you know.
Edit: Ah, you meant the dialogue wheel and voice over? In that case count me among hopes met not fears confirmed crowd. Death to the silent protagonist!

The rogue idle stance is indeed pretty silly. It's like someone was trying to come with a way to one-up the reverse grip that seems to be all the rage at the momentUpsettingshorts wrote...
One day animators will realize that holding weapons properly looks cool enough. One day.

Think the circular menu is just console way to implement the equivalent of what the point and click combined with toolbar allow on PC.ejoslin wrote...
