Guessing, what im going to say, while playing a character just isnt acceptable in an RPG to me.
Not to keen on the new style either that looks kind of cartoony but that's something I can kind of.. Squirm and, kind of.. Sort of maybe, get through

My only real gripe so far, is the dialog wheel parapharasing.. I hate not knowing exactly what I am going to say when im playing an RPG.
At least you've got the expression icon to give you an idea.

Oh, and to totally change the topic. Anyone else thought Ladyhawke must be high like a kite on all the spice she must've gobbled to get eyes that blue
reminded me of Kate Beckensale in Underworld, not that that's a bad thing tho

Protip: google "dragon age 2, gameplay, lucca" and it's the third link you see. The Gametrailers one.
Gotta say, that looked pretty good. Could surely use some polishing, though.
Aww many thanks good Sir:wizard:

That video was very nice. The combat is pretty much what I expected (it looks good to me), but I must say the cutscenes/dialogue look soooo much more interesting than Origins' did. At least in my opinion.

One thing I didn't care for: the way the rogue holds the two daggers. I don't mind one being higher than the other, but I don't get why he's holding one behind his head. It looks like he's checking to see if his deodorant is working. Very minor, but there you go.

Yeah but still, in an RPG where I want to BE the character, GUESSING what im going to say just isnt going to fly. It's becoming mass effect, where they go all "Cinematic" instead of immersion with the character, what is supposed to be yours, is now Hawke. I dunno, I hoped Dragon age woudnt be that.
That dragon age would be dragon age, Mass effect would be mass effect

Dialogue was fine too, imo. It is similar to Mass Efect, but then I never had a problem with the way dialogue was delivered there. What I didn't like was the quality of the dialogue and the amount of it. My opinion is that DA:O did a lot better on that field and I hope DA2 follow that example. Whether I'll deliver those lines through a dialogue wheel or by clicking on sentences doesn't really matter.

Yeah, all of the dialogue was very terse and brief. I don't know if thats just that scene or indicative of how they are going to do things with the dailogue wheel and all.
And glazed over zombie eyes that don't move, robotic movements and when angry, eyes that bulge out of your skull.Ryzaki wrote...

It's definitely a more cinematic exprerience as they said it would be. From what I've seen combat was fine, though I wish they've shown it on PC rather than a console.

If you don't mind me asking, why? Unless you're talking about the free camera mode or the user interface (which is just a toolbar as far as I know) , it'll look the same (any graphical differences aside).

I think it's only to fit the tone of them running away from the Blight.

As long as they fix this I will be happy enough with the graphics, On another note I liked the faster mage attacks & the way Bethany held her staff

Also liking the run into battle. Not "Ooh, enemy! I must slow down!"

Probably inspired by the Japanese Scorpion sword stance. But it does make him look weird, because it seems like he is just awkwarding posing while holding two swords, and not very martial-like.andar91 wrote...

Real sword fighters use this form a lot, putting the blade in that position allows you to have more powerful swings & has the advantage of limiting your enemy's ability to see which way your attack is coming.

I don't think it's quite the same. The lack of the toolbar for placing spells and abilities is one. Consoles get a radial menu. There were also some things in the bottom right corner that looked like they're more console specific.
Nothing major I know, but as someone who plays games exclusively on the pc I preffer to see gameplay on my usual platform, if only to be able to say "all is well".
I hope that made some kind of sense because it's difficult to explain. Think of it more as a preference than anything.

Fair enough if it's just a personal preference. I just meant that the combat will still look the same whatever the user interface is (unless you roam around with the camera to target a spell or something). But okay.

That was a bit of a disappointment for me, I loved playing a DW rogue in origins. It just seems impractical, sure it looked kind of odd holding two daggers in origins, but at least it made more sense then having a dagger held behind your head, like some sort of ninja.

I hate the look of the rogue in DA2, all the back flips, rolls, spins etc just look stupid in my opinion, looks like some sort of crazy ninja flipping about all over the place. Then again i'm sure there are plenty of people who think it looks awesome.
