I'm giving back to the community now that I've been enlightened and figured many things out on how to mod Awakening, how to "get" its resources and etc.

We can actually do SO many things without even having those resources available... we just need to take long turns and waste more time, sure, but still, it's possible.

So without further addendum, you can find some short and concise tutorials on how to mod Awakening and get its resources from my BSN blog...

How to create a mod for Awakening: social.bioware.com/53295/blog/10858/

I'd like to thank Noob766, veteran_gamer, and of course Theo for their help.
Hope you find it useful :-).

EDIT: By the way, I've also written some more tutorials about plots and dialog functioning here: social.bioware.com/53295/blog/&category_id=1123 they are older, but hey, somebody might need them. I'm aware they can get lost in my blog. :-)

Nice hack! Well done and this should definitely be useful for those looking to extend their modules to Awakening.

@DLAN_Immortality

Will that first tutorial make your module ONLY work with Awakening, or will it still work with original DA:O?

Obadiah: My "awakening" mod scripts totally work in DAO, but my testing there was very limited, so I don't know to what point you can make one mod for both. It should be possible because you're setting your mod to Core Game Resources.

Specifically, I'd like to make my standalone adventure allow the player to use both Awakening and the Origins skills depending on what they have installed (kind of the way a NWN module built with only the original campaign works when played on a computer with expansions installed). I'll play around with it and see what I can find.

Anyway, the tutorials are very helpful.

Should be possible.

Just make sure that if you use resources from "Single Player" (Origins), they are also part of "Core Game Resources" (check the properties), and if they are not, you should re-set the properties, otherwise they won't work in your mod. :-)

That's fantastic, Immortality! I look forward to trying that out for my custom companion once I finish work on his Origins content.

I think the only thing that we "new NPC" people cannot do is interject dlgs... but all the rest is doable (so far...) :-)

That's slightly disappointing, but by the time I actually finish with Origins maybe interjections will be doable, too. ;-)

If Bioware finally releases the resources then yes, otherwise, no.

So... uhm, yeah.
