Description: Every time i cast Sleep the game crashes.
I could NOT choose that spell from the speel pool and the game will run as if nothing is wrong so basically i just ignore it and never pick it up.
This has been happening a lot, lately every time i play the game as sorc/wiz the game crashes if i cast that one spell. also happens with the heritage feat that gives you that special spell
is not that of a big deal but i wish to see if someone else has that same problem or i am stuck with what we call in my country " God is having fun with me"
Not in the shake of this problem but for normal windows problems i have reinstalled windows many times and of course installed the game many times in 2 different computers yet i always get the " windows has made an invalid operation and now will chrash your game" error message.
Any one knows something how to fix this?
Thanks.
Game crashes when casting "Sleep Spell"

Are you using any community override or hak type files?

nope besides using the console in my own modules from time to time to test some spells i don't like to tamper with the game.... the campains i play them without cheats or modifiers or stuff like that, some times i finished the campain and expansions with console editions just to check the full abilities on the game, but right now is a fresh new PC , fresh new Hard drive, fresh new windows and fresh new installation
i installed
NWN2 OC DVD
MoB DVD
SoZ DVD
MoW DVD
Then i opened the "online update" and let it go
when it reached the end it said patched up to 1.23 and said no more content need to be downloaded ...so no, no overrides or hacks or modifications ....
is a original un-tampered version with what youfind in the DVD's.....still thanks for comming to take a guess...hope someone can still help me.

spider,
do you know how to compile a script and chuck it into Override?
The script for Sleep is "nw_s0_sleep" (.nss/.ncs). Even if you aren't familiar with compiling scripts, place an empty textfile in your MyDocs->override folder, name it "nw_s0_sleep.ncs", then go ingame and try to cast Sleep. Nothing should happen (except the casting graphics), not even a crash ..
but if there *is* a crash something could be wrong with Spells.2da (the casting graphics), and with no crash 'twould indicate something not nice in the spellscript itself. I don't know more than that, but this test should help pinpoint the issue(s)
ps. ( .NET 2.0+ and, specially Dx9c in place okay? )
pps. Does anyone know if MoW rewrote the Sleep spell?

Are you using the Client Extension, it might already fix it.
if not look for the debug text file in your nwn2 app folder, and post it in it's entirety. If we can get one of the higher level programmers to look at it, they can diagnose the issue ( and add a fix to it to the client extension which contains a lot of fixes based on things like that )
