It depends on what kind of Warrior or Rogue you wish to play for point distribution.
If you play a Warrior (or even a Mage), 16 Cunning is all that is required for that ability; Rogues use more.
You will not need to place points in Magic or CON for either.
Most place Will at 20 or less by end game; I prefer 30 for Stamina.

Story-wise, neither will matter a bit. There's even a fair degree of overlap since Dual Wield and Archery are in both classes. I'd say register your game and check out the build guides to learn more.
Or make one of each and play through them both.

with the warriors you will be soaking up a lot more of the attention and damage, becoming more of a tank than anything else, whilst the rogue excels at backstabs and stuns so you will spend more of your time trying to flank your opposition than running head first into a fight.
Like Elhanan said, Rogues also have the benefit of breaking into chests etc but both will be fun to play through.

Which of these you take yourself, thats left to you.
Personally I enjoy Rogue for the main character much more than Warrior, because you can open much stuff that you have to leave behind otherwise.

My last run had the bulk of the game done by a party of three rogues and a debuff/damage mage. But yes, while still learning how classes/abilities work, you'll probably want one of each for every encounter until you get a handle on what you want out of your companions for your current Warden.

Or you may play a Rogue as a stand-up, toe-to-toe headknocker that can scout if needed. Stealth is like a seasoning; it is not required, but the dish is more palatable when included.
That was a nice way of saying they're most effective when stabbing people in the back.

I like Rogues because they can still drop enemies like a warrior AND they have all the cool skills like lock picking and stealth. The only advantage a Warrior has is the heavy armour.
BZZZZ! And the answer is: Rogues may also wear heavy armor, too; just pump STR instead of Cunning!

Yes, but many Rogue talents require cunning. If you go for strength, it's more efficient to make a Warrior from the beginning...Elhanan wrote...

By a margin of 2-10 pts, perhaps.
Cunning builds oft have 20 STR for best light armor. For a STR build, Cunning 22 is required for Stealth; 30 for Deft Hands (4) to open everything. The remaining pts may go into STR and/or DEX.
By increasing STR, one may skip Lethality tier; the best of the four Talents in that line. One also increases the item pool ro include armors, shields, and larger weapons. While lighter armors may still be chosen, the selection is much wider. I prefer to go with heavy armor and better survive Overwhelm, Grab, and like tactics, and Master Archer talent removes the RoF penalty.
Then there are the bonuses associated with STR vs Cunning:

At a glance, I prefer the STR bonsuses over Cunning, but will not argue the details and allow others to make their own judgements.
I prefer the versatility gained by the switch, and ae a cost of only 2-10 pts.
