I enjoy the Rogue more than Warriors, but the HN Origin does give the Warrior a good start. If you enjoy opening your own containers, select a Rogue as there are plenty of them; not much loot, but lots of XP.

It depends on what kind of Warrior or Rogue you wish to play for point distribution.

If you play a Warrior (or even a Mage), 16 Cunning is all that is required for that ability; Rogues use more.

You will not need to place points in Magic or CON for either.

Most place Will at 20 or less by end game; I prefer 30 for Stamina.

I have a fondness for rogues, but Warriors do excel in staying on their feet while making opponents... not. At least once they hit level 10ish and get tier 4+ gear anyways.

Story-wise, neither will matter a bit. There's even a fair degree of overlap since Dual Wield and Archery are in both classes. I'd say register your game and check out the build guides to learn more.

Or make one of each and play through them both.

I suppose it depends heavily on how you would rather play the game -

with the warriors you will be soaking up a lot more of the attention and damage, becoming more of a tank than anything else, whilst the rogue excels at backstabs and stuns so you will spend more of your time trying to flank your opposition than running head first into a fight.

Like Elhanan said, Rogues also have the benefit of breaking into chests etc but both will be fun to play through.

You always want a Warrior, Rogue and Mage in group, plus someone in the fourth slot.

Which of these you take yourself, thats left to you.

Personally I enjoy Rogue for the main character much more than Warrior, because you can open much stuff that you have to leave behind otherwise.

'Always' is a bit of an exaggeration.

My last run had the bulk of the game done by a party of three rogues and a debuff/damage mage. But yes, while still learning how classes/abilities work, you'll probably want one of each for every encounter until you get a handle on what you want out of your companions for your current Warden.

Do you prefer to fight head on, or do you like to be more stealthy, attacking from behind? Choose which ever suits your playstyle/roleplay better.

Or you may play a Rogue as a stand-up, toe-to-toe headknocker that can scout if needed. Stealth is like a seasoning; it is not required, but the dish is more palatable when included.

That was a nice way of saying they're most effective when stabbing people in the back. ;)

Rogues are my favorite, especially when playing nobles of any kind since nobles are the best at backstabbing people for personal gain >:D But also, rogues have the most fun abilities. Stealth is probably the best, for true.

I like Rogues because they can still drop enemies like a warrior AND they have all the cool skills like lock picking and stealth. The only advantage a Warrior has is the heavy armour.

BZZZZ! And the answer is: Rogues may also wear heavy armor, too; just pump STR instead of Cunning! Posted Image

I do have to chime in on the side of Warriors as well. Just got done playing an Orlesian 2-Hander Warrior through Awakening/Witch Hunt and thoroughly enjoyed her. Probably going to dust off the Human Noble 2-hander still handing around Lothering in her honor. Some basic support behind her and strong weapon and armor and she was an unholy terror, only overshadowed by the total brokenness that is Awakening Rogue Archers.

Yes, but many Rogue talents require cunning. If you go for strength, it's more efficient to make a Warrior from the beginning...

I played a double-wielding elf warrior, and the difference to a double-wielding elf rogue (which I played later) is more a question of character than of advantages.

And you won't get Queen Anora either way...

I would suggest rouge. There are only 2 rouges and 4 warriors you can get in game. If you would like a diverse party I would suggest rouge. Also it  allows you collect all the loot in the castle

By a margin of 2-10 pts, perhaps.

Cunning builds oft have 20 STR for best light armor. For a STR build, Cunning 22 is required for Stealth; 30 for Deft Hands (4) to open everything. The remaining pts may go into STR and/or DEX.

By increasing STR, one may skip Lethality tier; the best of the four Talents in that line. One also increases the item pool ro include armors, shields, and larger weapons. While lighter armors may still be chosen, the selection is much wider. I prefer to go with heavy armor and better survive Overwhelm, Grab, and like tactics, and Master Archer talent removes the RoF penalty.

Then there are the bonuses associated with STR vs Cunning:

At a glance, I prefer the STR bonsuses over Cunning, but will not argue the details and allow others to make their own judgements.

I prefer the versatility gained by the switch, and ae a cost of only 2-10 pts.
