I mean, you are kinda taking the word of assassins that haven't been proven to be 100% legit.

And the Mona Lisa was a famous painting. Vigilance is not a sword of legend. It is just a really nice sword that you happen to have. It's petty threft from someone who happens to be a legend. Continuing on the Da Vinci track, say a thief had managed to pick his pocket. That's petty theft. Would anyone be impressed? I doubt it.And I don't think it's considered petty theft when you steal from an arguable legend. I think you get reputations for doing that. People still remember the guy who stole the Mona Lisa, for instance (Peruggia).

Outside of the Zevran romance, which will probably be handwaved by you guys not really running the crows, everything else could be plausibly explained.

Again, I agree it can be handwaved. But it's hard to get past, no matter WHAT Ignacio says, that no one would take the contract a year prior on a couple of Gray Warden recruits except for one Crow who expected to die during the attack. And yet they'd be willing to take on the warden commander a year later.
It really does sound like more of a job for the Crimson Oars. Seriously.
Edit: Gogo handwave! YAY!

Stealing the pocket change of an famous artist, and stealing the main sword of a martial/magical legend who helped end a blight 'single handedly' are not remotely comparable.
I used the word legend because that's what Bioware wrote for the damn thing when you were making it, fyi. Wade said he would be crafting a "sword of legend", and with it being taken from you, a legend could be made about it.
And Swords become famous over time. Tizona, Excalibur, Ame no Murakumo, etc. This is Bioware's chance to make their own version of that, provided they keep using it in sequels.
And taking a contract to steal and taking a contract to kill are largely different arguments. But I suppose you have a point.
