I have the Ultimate Edition of Dragon Age: Origins. Alistair has 100+ approval at my character who is a male casteless dwarf, when I select Alistair during exploration, he sometimes mutters out "My love". Obviously the wrong audio was put there and I found it really funny. It's the Xbox 360 version by the way, I do not recall ever hearing this as other characters who had Alistair at 100+ approval but maybe I wasn't listening. In a way it's funny but it's also annoying. Anyone else encountered this?
My Love..? Alistair Gone Gay?! What!?

You can have Alistair also turn gay in the game. It's difficult to do but it is possible. The game guide says so.

I find that hard to believe. I've never heard it mentioned anywhere before now..

You can't have a gay Alister without a bug or a mod.

Correct. Alistair and Morrigan are 100% straight. Leliana and Zevran are bisexual.

Perhaps they're intended to be but there are bugs. In addition to the one noted by this poster, apparently sometimes Alistair will break up with a male PC after the Landsmeet if he's made king. You know, the "Grey Wardens have trouble making babies" spiel...it's especially difficult if they're both male.

On the PC as of patch 1.04, Alistair will also sometimes respond to a male Warden with "My love?" when selected.
I first noticed this when Alistair's approval neared 100% — it was definitely in the nineties, perhaps even at 100%; I didn't think to note the exact value at the time. My Warden, Urien, is a male human mage. I don't know if the response will show up for male Wardens with other origins. Knowing that Alistair is canonically straight, I certainly didn't expect such a response; I had to listen closely several times to be sure that he wasn't actually saying "My Lord?"
I prefer if possible to explain oddnesses like this in story terms, rather than simply blame coding errors. Alistair has watched Urien romancing Zevran and enjoying everyone and everything available at the Pearl (except Isabela, somehow!) without social sanction, so now he feels secure enough to murmur occasional discreet and plausibly "mishearable" endearments …
It's rather sweet, and (Maker be praised!) it seems not to trigger any jealousy in Zevran or adverse reactions in anyone else. So please, let's not have this fixed in 1.05!

My son's male warrior has this problem with Alistair as well - he *begged* me to find a solution, which is how I found this post. I find it rather funny, myself, but for some reason he doesn't

I guess the fix is to give him gifts from the feastday DLC that lower his approval. Although it's not that big a deal, Alistair being the dick that he is could just be saying it to wind you up, this is the same guy who says "Yeeeeesssssssssssssssssssss?" with a big grin on his face after all.

It seems so, however I found something in the DA: Toolset that has got to do with Alistair's gay dialogue. It will show the list of dialogues that he will only say when you are in a friggin love relationship with him which are: "Hmm?", "Your wish", "At your service","Say the word","Y-eeesss ?" and the worst one, "MY LOVE?". But unfortunately I have no knowledge on how to manipulate it to make the game right.
For now, I'll try the feastday gifts for Dumb Alistair....

I've played through DA:O several times, each time eventually reaching 100% relationship status with Alistair, and didn't hear the "My Love?" line until I downloaded the Feastday combo pack. I had assumed that it had something to do with my force-feeding him approximately ten sugar cakes, but after seeing all these posts, I'm starting to wonder...

Ten sugar cakes? LOL
So the Feastday Combo Pack is causing all the problems you think? Hmmm.
