It is only expensive if you don't consider that producing a polished and good video game already runs into the MILLIONS, as much as making a movie does. In that light, VA fees (unless you hire people like Tom Cruise or Angelina Jolie. In ME2, Martin Sheen and Carrie-Ann Moss are probably the two most expensive talents) and studio fees are negligible, more so if you arrange and schedule for block booking.

Someone better quote, but I bet all of you squadmates as squadmates from ME1 and ME2 will return. Just watch, it'll happen.

 Right?

Because they can all potentially die at the end of ME2 and it'd be a waste of resources to create fully integrated party members with banter, Normandy hangouts and conversations, etc, if it all might go to waste.

So my guess is that you won't see Tali, Garrus, Grunt, Jack, etc, as party members in ME3. You'll just get cameo glimpses a la Kaidan/Ashley/Wrex.

Liara is a possibility, though I wouldn't particularly like that because it'll screw over everyone who chose anyone else as their LI.

By that logic, Shepard wouldn't be in ME3 either.  He can actually die at the end of the suicide mission.  So I guess that leaves Joker as the protagonist of ME3.

Actually, Bioware has already said if Shepard dies in ME2, you get the default save for ME3. So they may default some saves, depending on the situation.

Umm you do remeber if Shapard dies you can not use that save right? I think the Devs have said that a few times in the past. I really do not see that big deal. The crew from ME2 is just like the Wrex issue from ME1. If you kill him he is not in ME2 if you did not he is. LoTSB showed how they could have you play with members from ME2 but not have them with you doing the story.

Just do not understand why everyone feels squad member have to be in ME3 when it is suppose to be Shapards story. Oh well never thought they would kill Shapard to start ME2 just to reboot the series and his stats. I just hope they focus on telling a good story but no matter what they do I am sure people who are fans of ME1 and/orME2 will be upset.

As it stands now I see Joker and Liara filling the C-3PO/R2D2 roles though with her age and her new job could just be Liara's view of things we see. Oppsy I went so off topic Image IPB

Wont appear at all, unlikely... I certainly hope not. Some will probably appear as squad members still, like Miranda, Tali, Thane, and Garrus. Others will probably have a smaller role in the squad or be reduced to a contact like Liara (or something similar to that like Wrex). Hopefully no one gets the treatment Ashley/Kaidan got cameo wise.

oh god not this thread again

it seems to pop up on a regular basis

people seem to assume that just because content may not be seen, that it shouldn't be included.

bioware made an achievement for getting everyone out alive. that incentive, plus the general transparency of the suicide mission, virtually assures them that EVERYONE has a save where all squadmates survived.

THAT is the baseline. players who lost nearly everyone are a distinct minority.

seen from that perspective, there's no reason why bioware SHOULDN'T bring everyone back for ME3.

Plus, for your save to be importable to ME3, at least two of your squadmates have to be alive. Hint, hint.

You have no idea how expensive recording a studio to do lines is, do you? Also, the developer's time is expensive.

Apart from the fact that VA isn't as expensive as other aspects of game development that has already been mentioned, how exactly will it cost more than ME2's voice acting ? I just don't get it.

Hmmm... Since most can die and I doubt a Default Save will have everyone alive I'm going to agree. ME2 fans shall suffer as my Shepard as when Bioware gave Ashley the Bird in ME2! BWAHAHAHAHAHA~!
