Hm, if Mike was referring to making hair longer that's kind of interesting. Don't recall any proper long hair in DAO. Probably because of clipping issues.

Sad.

Champions Online and similar games where you can customize your characters...they spoiled us.

Well, it's like Origins. There were a lot of sliders there, too! We might have a bit more...you know..something on some of those sliders, and maybe some stuff that's...longer....or...stuff. But that's just details!

Mentioned already but, I believe it's chest hair.

Sad that boobs appear to be on perma-maximum. Kinda unfair you know if this is the case.

Chesthair levels: Fully waxed to Caveman.
Boob levels: A-cup to G-cup :? :looks at self: :crying:

I interpret that comment to mean there aren't any new sliders but the old ones have more options.

Also that "Nooooooooo!" compilation video is cracking me up.

Well, there are a LOT of sliders. Just an assumption that was made, I'm sure. No need to light the torches.

*Lowers Torch sadly* :crying:
Awwww...I want hair sliders! And lips that don't look like I've sucked a lemon! And a NWN style colour picker for skin and hair! If I want bright purple hair, I want bright purple hair, dammit!!

Darn, no boob slider.

Maybe that's one of the things you can make longer.

Oh dear, that's awful.

I really hope it's just hair... yarg.

ROTFL (in the real sense of the word :D)

Anyway, pity for the lack of body customization, but there are more important things the graphic department can focus on, so... ok

*pat* *pat* Don't be sad, small breasts have the advantage of better shape and sensitivity.
And besides, there are plenty of men who prefer small breasts over big breasts.

Hey guys, sorry to be a wet blanket, but while we have Origins-level facial customization (SO MANY SLIDERS!), we don't have body customization. I believe Joystiq was taking a guess there.

No loss for me about the body customization. But, YAY for origins-level facial customization! I feared that we were getting a limited Mass Effect-like character creator.

I'mma do my happy dance now. :wizard:

A slight bummer, but I would like to say thank you for confirming it won't be in. That's one less thing for us crazy people to argue over.

Awwww, that stinks. Oh well, I wasn't really expecting it initially and I wondered if it was a misunderstanding, since I thought the devs had explained why they don't do that.

So we sacrificed all those dwarves and elves for nothing?

Nothing wrong with longer fingers.

No body sliders is a disappointment. Reading that article a day ago was the first time I felt excited about DA2 related news. Plus, I liked the prospect my character need not have Bethany-sized boobs. :P I suppose it should not be surprising. Body sliders would probably make creating armor models more troublesome than it is worth.

Uh huh....

Every game I've played with full body customization were really shallow.  The best parts were creating a character.

Well, I hoped we could put down the steroid syringe as M Hawke, but apparently not.

Every man is Heman and every woman is Selma Hayek. It could be worse. But individuality would have been nice.

Most things I've seen with body sliders have a system in place where the model changes with the body. Increase the shoulder width and the shoulders of the armour would "stretch", make the waist thinner and the armour would do the same. So really it's just one model that gets stretched/compressed.

Just out of curiosity... How do games that feature body sliders - like Age of Conan or various other MMO's - handle this? Sliders all over, yet the very same armor fits the slim, the tall and the short character...

That said, I'd really love to see normal sized boobs for my PC, just for a change. Mind you, but in my view a athletic woman, adept at swordsplay and such, doesn't cary melons around... -.-

The way noted in the post above yours, I guess. I had a hard time picturing it given DAO's approach to armor and head morphs and DA2 being similar.

I still wonder why the character creator in Origins didn't provide all the sliders included in the toolset.

I'm fine with just the facial sliders, as long as I can make Hawke my own and not the preset one then I'm happy as a clam.
