I have gotten the nug each time doing this with no problems at all. Never have failed me getting it. and i completed game 6 times.



1: Get the quest where you have to find nugs.

2: Talk to leliana , ask her what she know about the area. (she will talk about how cute nugs are)

3: Talk with idle dwarf and make him go catch a nug you can buy. (i offer 20 silver myself, when he run off to catch the nug. leave area , and come back. He will have it then. I then paid him 40 silver)



Of course i hade Leliana in party while doing these 3 steps.



You can probably do it paying diffirent amounts i dont know i have allways done it this way.

I think you have to have somewhat high standing with her for her to mention it. It should trigger just by talking to her while in orzammar. I had always assumed it was triggered just by having her present, but the other characters special stuff also trigger based on standing so why not this one.

it could be but im pretty sure i did what i always do , in like go to Orzammar as first place after Lothering so in theory she would have the same approval i already got her the furthest i could in dialogues , oh well i ll try to find her some other gifts

thats what i did in my previous playtroughs (maybe 4) but on this one she just wont trigger it at all i grabbed the quest went to pick up nugs ,spoke to her ,tryed to give one,talk to her,zone, tryed the same, got out of Orzammar went to do bunch of quests elsewhere,raised her approval,went back to Orz, spoke to her, tryed giving another nug to the guy , rinse repeat and still no nug convo, during all those steps she was with me , maybe she got bugged or some i ll try later on today even if i ran out of nugs to give to the dude

Are you sure you are talking to the right nug wrangler?



Even though you do the turn-in for the one near the Deep Roads entrance, the one who actually gives you the nug to give you a gift is in Dust Town. (I dunno why you can't just keep one of the ones you're giving this turn-in guy, but that's how it worked for me.)

You mean you missed the scene where she puts a saddle on Dog, give the nug a little lance, and knights him Ser Smooples the Brave?

I really hope I haven't locked myself out of traveling the map at the point I'm at in the game because I must go back to Orzammar for this! If not, I must do it on a second playthrough.

I've done the Nug quests with Leliana in my group. She never talked about it.



I did get her a Nug in a previous run where I was romancing her.

This PC has't been romancing her, just yet. I also did Orzazmmar as my first city.



It could be related to romance.

When I played through, if Leliana is in your party when you talk to the Nug Wrangler, she butts in and comments that she doesn't like the city nugs, they're grubby and smell. So Nug Wrangler nugs are definetly out.



Idle Dwarf also says he catches wild ones from the deep roads "they're a lot bigger... and tastier."

Actually I regret having given her that gift. The dog is fine, but having that pink animal also in camp annoyed me a little bit. Like a zoo! Then again, the whole camp already looks like a zoo with all these illustrious people standing around already... hahaha.

One thing that's strange, I have read dozens and dozens of posts by people complaining about the dog barking over conversations in camp to the point someone "toned it down" with a mod and yet its this pig/rabbit abominations perpetual squeaking that drives me to distraction, I wish I never got her the thing.

read my previous post i said it worked fine in my previous 4 playtroughs but not in this one so yeah i know which guys does what

The Dwarves take care of it and try to teach it to say "Enchantment!" while you are gone.

I about died laughing when I saw it standing next to her in camp and she had named it "Schmooples". She even has it with her at the coronation room at the end but not at the Arl's Estate/Castle maybe he has a no Nugs allowed policy. Leliana is just an awesome character.



There is not that much Schmooples content though, outside of the fact it is there and Oghren and her have a conversation about it once unless I am missing something.

you have to speak to Liliana after having done the nug turn-ins and all that, and then another option opens up at the dust town nug vendor.

After that, I go collect a nug, turn it in, and then try to ask her what she knows of the area. She doesn't mention any nugs whatsoever. I also tried to go to the idle dwarf, but he won't sell any nugs either. Her approval is around 40-50 only.

I don't think I'm doing something wrong... feels like something is missing. Do I have to turn in all possible nugs first?

I think your approval is too low to trigger it.  Try giving her other gifts to get that rating up.

Indeed. I had her with me in Orzammar with +75 approval. Bought one of them Andrastes holy symbols, gave it to her and spoke to her afterwards and she started to talk about how grand and beautiful Orzammar is, and then she mentioned the nug, and the Idle Dwarf was willing to hunt for 20 silver. So case closed I suppose, get her approval to 80+ and you'll have yourself a nug.

I honestly think you have to solve the Jarvia issue for either King wannabe. I noticed i had trouble getting it right away so i went and did some Ozi stuff and checked back before i left Ozi for good and could buy her one then.

Killing Jarvia wasn't necessary for me. I was able to get a nug for Leliana shortly after arriving in Orzammar. She mentioned finding nugs cute when I approached her in the city's entry hall. I can't remember what her approval rating was at that point, but it was lower than "warm".

There's a chance this is buggy, considering how many players are having trouble with it.

I jsut can't get hte nug quest for her.



Her approval is high (I jsut had that Marjorie quest of hers), I still got one nug in my backpack for that wrangler guy, so that quest isn't fully finished yet, and I've talked ot her about Orzamarr and stuff.



She did mention that the nugs are filthy when the nug wrangler game me his quest.

No, Morrigan isn't into women.

I believe the main problem when you don't get it is tied to her approval. Like romancing her if you don't chat her up at certain levels of approval you miss out on conversation options. Leliana is really twitchy when it comes to approval, make sure you talk to her a lot between gifts or plot points you gain approval through.



I know it's related to her buggy approval because it happened to me and I managed to fix it via the console by dropping her alignment, then chatting her up and raising later. Had her at 100 approval at one point and she was just warm, very telling sign that you raised her approval too fast.
