I hope the DLC is not PS3-exclusive. It'd make me livid, even to the extent of a Bioware boycott.

And once a new Bioware game comes out and release everything like DLC, stuff animals, toys, etc. you will buy every single one of them and love Bioware even if they make that 6 hour content exclusive.

I love stuffed animals. Maybe that'd make me rethink my boycott.

My hopes for Mass Effect 2 on PS3:

I hope those 3 DLCs are on the disc since the PS3 version will be on Blu-Ray. It seems a sure bet this will happen at least especially since it also comes with a new six-hour mission supposedly.

I hope they re-encode the FMVs for the PS3 version as well since a Blu-Ray can hold uncompressed video and audio with no problem.

I hope it also has an uncompressed 7.1 LPCM audio track. ::drools::

I'm also wondering if it's possible for it to support Steamworks in some way. Steam Cloud saving perhaps? Probably not likely until Portal 2 is released on PS3, but one has to think big from time-to-time. :P

I have a PS3, but I'm not buying ME2 just for that. Better be DLC.

Alberto might. But don't know that I would.

I think things should be the same across all the platforms. Its nice and fair that way. No one can complain.

It's not 100% the same post. I made some changes/updates.

My feelings are the same and it applies in this thread as well as the other thread in the other forum. :)

Bioware is on the right track this is how you introduce a franchise to a new console. The interactive comic book sounds interesting,PS3 players will be able to make ME1 choices and also enjoy it's great story.

P.S:Who said the 6 hour mission is exclusive, enough with the ignorant fanboy rage.

Kudos that did make me laugh, the PS3 version of steamworks is still being created.  In comparison steamworks has been available on the PC for over 7 years and Bioware didn't bother to integrate steamworks into the PC version.  So I think we can safely say if they couldn't be bothered to do it for the PC version they are not going to bother doing it for the PS3 version.

I'm sorry the whole PC scene is a mess.I love the PC as a gaming platform but they are too many companies providing the same service on the PC.Sony will promote Steamworks on the PS3 and developers should catch on.After all they are no alternatives.Sony should and most probably will fully integrate it into the console and will encourage it.

Yeah erm ok I guess we all have to have our "flights of fantasy"  regardless of what you think will happen with steamworks on the PS3 it is a pretty safe bet that Mass Effect 2 on the PS3 will not feature steamworks integration.  After all steamworks is Valve's property and I imagine they would prefer it to premiere it on one of their games.

Maybe ME2 might not have it but It will most probably happen in the near future. The reason the PC market is so small is because of disunity. If Sony wants to they can make certain features of steamworks mandatory on their console. The reason it doesn't happen on PC is because the platform doesn't really belong to anyone. It might not happen now but it will in the near future. The PS3 is Sony's platform and they mostly can enforce whatever they want.

P.S:Also the reason it doesn't happen on the 360 is Microsoft's closed network policy. They should really review their policy in my opinion.

I am not getting into a debate about what you think "will or will not happen" with steamworks on the PS3 this is not the place for it.  The fact you seem to have such a poor view of the PC market tells me enough to know not to get into any kind of debate with you.

I merely posted to state that there is no way that Mass Effect 2 will feature steamworks on the PS3, it does not support steamworks on the PC so it is highly unlikely it will use steamworks on the PS3 especially since technically steamworks does not exist yet on the PS3 and will not exist till Portal 2 is released which I believe is AFTER Mass Effect 2 gets released on the PS3.

The PC is a superior platform then the PS3 and 360.It just saddens me that  the PC usually account for 5% sales of most mainstream games. All I'm saying that is steamworks will come and work on the PS3,somehow who have something against that.At least that is what I feel.Back on topic can't wait for ME2 to come on PS3 and hope steamwork integration will be possible by the time ME3 is released.:D

Just hope we get some official info soon. Very soon actually. I don't have a PS3 so wont be getting this version. But I am interested in what bioware is up to and hope everything is equal across all platforms.

It's a good way to enrich the ME experience, sadly some PC owners don't share my point of view.Valve is bringing Steamworks and let's see if Sony will try to integrate it into their console fully.

The 6-hour content will NOT be PS3-exclusive (at best, it will be a timed exclusive) and is probably the next piece of bridging content/DLC. Mark my words, guys.

Anyone thing that it may be the Mass Effect Redemption comics in DLC form where you get to play as Liara saving our good friend Shepard?

It would only be fair if the PS3 version got some nice introduction to ME2 by having some ME1 stuff. If that's the exclusive content, I'd be more than happy. If it's something that the PC users and X360 users will never get, well,m let's just say I wouldn't be so happy.

Some official statement here would be nice and (probably) made a lot of people here calm and happy.

...so?

Trying to get answer from Bioware is like praying. Nobody ever answers. :D

Well the reason people are worried about it possible being on PS3 only is the only info we have comes from a bioware PS3 thread. So we need to hear from bioware to find out what is going on.
I don't support exclusives even timed ones.
