Who is moaning? Some people freak because of lack of info. Me I want to know what is going on before I react to it. I personally think it is fine that PS3 is getting into the ME series. Welcome. ME1 not making it on PS3 is a seperate issue. But as I have said, we all should no matter what platform we play on have the same content for the same games.

I think you're missing the point. PS3 users dont have access to Mass effect 1 for their system and, by the looks of things, never will. So if the PC gamers and Xbox gamers are missing out on one little dlc in order to entice a whole new group of gamers I don't see a problem with that. If PS3 users have an interactive comic instead of ME1 than PC and
Xbox users can deal with a "missing"/added module by watching in on Youtube.

Having said that, I do agree that a whole game should be made available to every platform that it is on. When ME3 comes out all content should be made available to all systems it's on and have it be the end of this exclusivity crap.

Actually I do get the point. I am upset for you that ME1 wont be on PS3. ME1 is a great game. My favorite game actually. So I do wish you could play it on the system that you want to play it on. I really do. I guess what I am saying is whatever game is shared across multiple systems should have the same content. We could all share in the same experience int the same way. I know that bioware is making the interactive comic thing to help PS3 players since they don't get ME1. I was thinking that it might also help some of the 360 and PC players that just jumped in to ME2. But I don't think bioware will do that. I can understand that. I play on PC but I am no fanboy. I think the consoles are great. E I do want to say welcome to Mass Effect.  :)

I am reminded of the saying "two wrongs don't make a right", I think it is unfair that PS3 users will not get to play ME 1.  However it is EQUALLY unfair to with hold new content from your current customers (PC/360).

Now as I said I do not have a problem with PS3 users getting the DLC free or getting a special introductory module exclusive to the PS3 platform.  I do however take issue with this "6 hour mission", if this is new Mass Effect content outside of ME 1 and 2 then yeah that is a massive middle finger to their current customers.

Now we don't know much about this "6 hour mission yet" and Bioware as perusual don't seem to be all that willing to actually communicate with their customers and clarify things.  So the best we can do is wait till they can be bothered to tell us anything.

I'm sure they will release it for xbox and PC, they will charge 1200 points for it while at the same time including it in the PS3 release at no added cost.

Which is bull****. I'm gonna get it anyway, but if it's free for one platform, it should be free for all platforms.

People will pay almost full price of a year old game, they basically pay for it.

If at whatever they decide to charge for the PS3 version if they include all the dlc how would that be fair to some one who buys me2 new on the PC or 360 and has to pay for the dlc. Year old or not it would still be a new game to the PS3. DLC should not be given to one group for free and not to the others.
Still want to know more about this new mission thing.

its fair whoever buys ME2 now was just waiting for the price to drop, ME2 is $25 at my gamestop, so yeah its fiar, if the dlc was not in the PS3 version it would only be $40 new, Bioware has to put something in the game to bring the price back to $60.

Different platforms cost different prices. I usally pay $10 less for new games because I play on PC. So what the game costs on the different platforms doesn't much matter to me. If bioware is gonna charge $60 for the PS3 version. Well is is a new game to your system. But if they think they need to give the PS3 version free DLC  to make it worth it. I think they should lower the price of the game and then charge you for DLC like they do for the PC and 360. Everyone gets treated the same that way. Then no one can complain.

Ok, I understand where you're coming from now a whole lot better. I apologize for my harshness but it was( and still is) a sore spot for me. I just have a feeling this 6 hour content is a condensed form of Mass Effect 1. I do wish Bioware would just elaborate and tell us what the dlc is and whether or not that this is exclusive... but this is Bioware. And thank you for the wonderful welcome. :D

*Edited for a typo. God I hate myself when I have noticable typos.

I would probably be thin skined if I was you. People can be jerks. I just want us all to have the same game. I play on PC but think it would suck if I had some content say for ME3 that you couldn't get. I didn't get the shadow broker DLC but I know some couldn't get it. It wasn't even available to some. That sucked.  Your welcome for the welcome.
Some info from bioware would be nice.

So, according to the german BioWare boards (new infos from Casey Hudson) the PS3 version contains an interactive comic with background infos and decisions and also Overlord, Kasumi and Shadow Broker DLCs as well as Cerberus Network access.

They also mention a new 6 hour mission, but no further details on that.

Additional 6 hour mission ? DO WANT !

This will happen: Think Borderland GOTY edition...

When ME2 for PS3 is released it will have all 4 major DLC to date (one will be new... bridging to ME3). The "exclusive" content will be the interactive comic that replaces ME1.

At the same time the 4th DLC (the "6 hour" one) will be released to 360 users on Live... for a standard cost. Also at the same time, the ME2 GOTY edition will be released on 360 that will be identical to the PS3 version (with all 4 major DLC... minus the ME1 comic). Don't be surprised if they pull a borderlands and gave you access codes to the DLC, instead of an actual 3rd disc.

Everyone will be happy. And those that are only happy when unhappy... will continue to be unhappy. PS3 users will jump for joy for getting ME2, and laugh that they get the content and DLC on fewer discs. Xbox fans will state that textures are slightly better looking on 360 when posted on flame-bait blogs.PS3 users will say their exclusives are the best, and 360 users will say Kinect is the way of the future.  PS3 users will continue to wait for GT5.

Could dev make some statement about that?

Any body got the link to these new infor from Casey Hudson ?

It would be nice to get a new 6 hours game play,... but i wonder if it's not in fact Kasumi+Overlord+ShadowBroker that make 6 hours + of news mission from the usual game.

I hope it's a new dlc.

This.
But how much it will cost then ? It's additional 6 hours of gameplay !
I would assume that it will cost about 800-1200 ms/bw points.
Still, I'm going to buy PS3 version maybe it will be my new Mass Effect main platform :)

Well, knowing Bioware, they're not going to screw the communities over that put ME on the map anyway. That isn't their style to begin with. It would be really lame for them to give a free 6 hour DLC as a thank you to PS3 only owners just because the majority are fanboys. I own all three systems but I don't want to start 5 characters over just to play the 6 hour DLC on PS3...on the other hand, I want the DLC...

LOL I can't believe you people.  Once ME3 and Dragon Age 2 comes out you guys will buy the game brand new and will buy every single DLC even if they give PS3 exclusive stuff.

Some will complain and still buy whatever bioware puts out , yes. But some will put their foot down and not buy ME3 or DA2 or maybe anything Bioware makes . I think the same game across multiple platforms should have the same content the same way.

Edit. Forgot the word not . Silly me.

IMO multi-platform releases should have the same content, exclusive stuff is simply something console manufacturers pay for to artficially increase the value of their product for a short period of time. I'm not a fan, even if my chosen platform gets the exclusive content.

Still, worrying about this is moot, we have no idea what this 6 hour mission is. A comment from BioWare would be appreciated.

If I have to buy ME2 again on PS3 for the content, I'll do it. I don't really mind. I just don't want to start over again on 5 characters...

I bought DA twice. Once for 360 and once fo PC but DA is different on PC, especially with mods.

Also, all the promotion DLC going on for DA2 right now is only for PC/360...which sucks for PS3 only users. I'm not a fan of exclusive content when a game is multiplatform.

And that is why sony are making BW give exclusive content. So the absolute hardcore fans will pay another lump sum just for a couple hours of exclusive content.

But i don't see why bioware have to give all this extra content to the PS3 players for free. I mean ME2 sure is a hell of a lot better than anything they got on their system at the moment, and the graphics still rival anything being released today. PS3 players are getting one hell of a deal. They are basically getting a new game, PLUS a ****load of extra content. Lucky bastards.

I hate to have to say this, but I have both a PS3 and a 360 and graphics-wise, there are plenty of games that look better than Mass Effect 2. Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain and God of War 3 come immediately to mind. And though it's not out yet, Gran Turismo 5 is a technical powerhouse.

Whether or not the a game is better than another is obviously subjective but there are a lot of games that rival ME2 IMO. Again, Uncharated 2 and Heavy Rain come immediately to mind.

Also, I hope you're at least happy more people will get a chance to enjoy Mass Effect 2? :)

My thoughts exactly.

Why? Because we don't want to be ripped off?

lmfao, it's not a question of being ripped off or not, its the fact that folks are overreacting because of something which is probably inaccurate.

sure it's not "fair" that they get the dlcs for free however, if you compare the prices to the upcoming ps3 version and the 360 version of mass effect 2, you could easily tell the prices are going to be noticeably different. Me2 for pc and 360 are atleast 30$ now, while the ps3 versions will be 60-70$ probably. this balances the "fairness" out.

now about exclusive content? i'm certain bioware wouldn't head that low, espeicially with a company like EA on their tail. sure EA may seem a bit ambiguous at times but they surely focused on making most of their games multiplatform friendly.

it sounds more like the ps3 is getting more of a kick in the head than us, they don't even have mass effect 1 with them. only some crummy comic which sounds pretty bad to me

It's much better than the famed arguement that a lot throw around on here about the supposed "choices in ME1 won't matter in ME3 because of PS3 owners". Sure, maybe the little choices won't be covered such as the woman wanting Shepard to destroy two gang members, but at least the bigs one will be covered [such as wrex being alive or dead and your romantic choices].

Also, another thing. I believe DLC shouldn't be necessary for the players to have. It's a nice extra and it does go into areas that the game lacked because of it, but I don't think the events of the DLC should matter that much in ME3. In a way, you're punishing players for not buying it instead of rewarding players for buying it with extra content. So if the PS3 has exclusive DLC? Fine. As long as the events don't have a bearing on ME3, but is a great DLC in its own right.

DLC is a nice little extra to have, but not mandatory.

I own both a PS3 and a 360 [and nearly every other game consoles of the current gen], so I can buy ME2 for the PS3 if I wanted to. I lack the Overlord and Lair of the Shadow Broker dlc anyway [plus I wouldn't mind replaying it]. But ME3 will be 360 for me, because of my progress in ME1 unless the comic can replicate every choices like ME1, then ME3 for the PS3 if because of one disc. I dislike disc swapping anyway plus I hate using points card for the 360 because MS can't accept debit card whilst PS3 does.
