Yep.    But blame Charsen for the Alicorn.  I think NonVita had a hand in it as well Actually, thinking about it, Nonvita made Princess.  The Alicorn was hers to tame!

I actually have not changed my mind about the specific issue I was talking about there.

I find Alistair not remembering what happened to the Cousland, while he is crying about Duncan who told him this could happen, to be bordering offensive.

But...the only time he says he forgot about your family is when you ask him if he'd like to talk about Duncan or one of those lines right around the first time you get to talk to him in Lothering. Was he really in love with your character by that point?

That's my canon playthrough.  But I Zevran

Edit: Feastday gifts can't get him to love, though.  You have to do his personal quest for that.

That's not what you were saying based on the current and previous subjects of this thread.  Hate is not the same thing as thinking someone can use improvement.  You came in here sounding like a troll, so don't be surprised if people jump on you.

And who said it's ok to rant about any character except Alistair?  Actually, ranting about any character including Alistair is fine, but just try to do it with a little thought behind your statements.  Ask KoP.  He is an expert and intelligent ranter.  Troll-like hate statements will bring scorn and wrath down on your head.  Intelligent, witty criticisms will lead to interesting debate.

That's kind of cheating. It's only game mechanics that it's possibly for him to fall in love with you before he's even done openly grieving and being on the verge of falling apart. It's not fair to blame him for that.

True, but THAT is the fault of The Gaider I think, not the character. And I HATE THAT SO MUCH!  When I first played Kasha, I was so ticked off about that. My first run was a circle mage, she was all "woot freedom" and had no loss to speak of. And Alistair was so darned sweet that whole game. So, when I made Kasha, I'm thinking "Oh this is going to be awesome" thinking, well if he was that good to a mage with no real trauma, he'd have to be awesome with this warden who's family was murdered, and who's brother was missing.

I got to the part where I got to mention fergus in Lothering, and he started off asking about him...then Morrigan interrupted and was all "thats just stupid!". So, I thought well, he almost got there, so surely...in camp, with the duncan conversation, it's going to be epic and sweet.

Show up at camp, talk about duncan...

"Oh, I'm sorry, I completely forgot"...

Easy. He's NOT a templar, he never took his vows. He's a warrior, who was involuntarily stuck in the chantry, learned some of the skills, and was recruited by Duncan before becoming a full templar. He doesn't have the mage hate or give a rats behind about their thoughts on mages. Except blood mages, he hates blood magic, but doesn't stop him from loving a  blood mage either.

I personally think it is true to his character. Just like with the Redcliffe issue and the Landsmeet.
Alistair is self-centered (not selfish), has a hard time not taking things personally, and he craves the attention he was never given.

I think it's understandable. And I forgot what I argued exactly in that thread (though I had more than two posts in there, I am sure). But I'll say now, I don't think Alistair should not have said this. That's not the point. He has the right to sure. We also have the right to be annoyed.
