I wonder if this would turn fan girls off alistair?

Seeing how these were created BY Alistair fangirls, (except His Moobiliciousness, that was Axelix's baby), the answer to your question is a resounding NO.

In fact, the old Alistair love thread has some seriously twisted ali mutations, some of which, I've captured and collected here:

http://social.biowar...1/albums/827537

Edit.

The Alicorn is Charsen's...

Yeah, just saw that when I decided to rebrowse the album to see he created what. It's tagged as such.

It is a thing of beauty, the Alicorn.  *cry* Charsen!

Alistair fangirls (not used in a derogatory manner) are some very, very, very odd people . . . . . .

You just NOW noticed this?

Obviously, you haven't peeked in the Ali love threads. I even remember a discussion regarding Morrigan jamming her staff into Alistair where the sun don't shine, and electrecuting him to become erect for the Dark Ritual, since Alistair looked like he was suffering stage fright.

The first time I saw it posted, I imediately snatched it and made it my desktop wallpaper. My husband was, to say the least. highly bewildered and slightly disturbed.

I opened the Ali-lovefest thread once . . .I saw something that I later learned was called an Alicorn.

I closed the thread, and have never returned.

Alicorn scared you off?  But Alicorn is about peace and love and happiness ... and ... well, ok, it's pretty disturbing.

Then you got off lightly. The only non-Alistair fan I know that survived the thread reasonably unscathed was KoP. Even Axelix went mad when the divine voice of Moobistair called out and demaned Axe make him in his image.

Though Axelix posseses Holy Madness, now that has known the love of Moobistair.B)

TJ, a word of advice:  the Alicorn will haunt you.  Especially if you surround yourself with Alistair fangirls.Image IPB

What is rational about his abandoning the fight against the Blight? Does his duty to Duncan override his duty against the Blight?

That would be the overreaction part.  I said the rational came before that, in the principle of seeing Loghain pay for his crimes.

So he lets this overreation drag out forever? I don't mind him walking out of the Landsmeet. I don't mind him refusing to be led around by me any further. But if Alistair's own principles demand that Loghain face justice, then his own principles should demand that he continues to fight the blight. Instead he just decides that principles don't matter, and he abandons the fight.

I've gotten so far behind in this thread, but have to agree.

I think the scared and needy child in him takes over.  He freeks out completely, and runs away from a reality he can't cope with.  After all, he, from his perspective, has had his father figures atacked, and one killed, indirectly by Loghain, and now his only fellow warden who's the only one who also knew Dunkan and also was at Ostigar, someone who became his leader, is in his eyes betraying him in what he sees as a very personal manner.  He completely cracks.  He is completely misjudging the situation in many cases (unless you have a warden who hates him and does betray him to be cruel) and is disgracing himself and the order.  If he were being rational, he'd remember that the Blight is most important, and that Dunkan and Eamon both would want him to carry out his duties and have some dignity about it.

Other characters also have crisis moments where they may throw away the cause over something you did or didn't do, too.  But with them, I guess I'd take it a tad less personaly as they are not Wardens.  I mean, yeah, if Lelliana tries to kill me over the Urn, it's personal to an extent, and it depends also uppon the relationship my warden was having with her, but the idea of your fellow Warden who was with you from the beginning, who was at your side in the battle of Ostigar, just running out like that... that really shakes me a bit.  Somehow his deriliction of duty deepens the offence for me.

It doesn't make me hate him, but I do see him as a week fool.

You know, it's funny ... I never considered myself an Alistair fan-girl.  I started hanging out in the gush topic because I liked cmessaz's and Dahlia's mods, and that's where they were mostly posting.  Many times I've wanted to punch Alistair, and some of my characters have done horrible things to him.  But I like him more than any of the other characters, by a slim margin though.  Teagan is very close on his heels and Zev's not far behind.
