Agreed.  And this has been debated endlessly.  So your warden is as old as you feel they are!

It is kind of hard to rp a Cousland who is 60 years old though.
Or a mage who is as old as Irving.

The writers have said the Warden is assumed to be very young or 18-25 years old. The Warden can't be really be older. Alistair tells the Warden they have 30 years to live, and this is based on the Warden being young.

No, it just means that they're young enough that they wouldn't expect to die of old age within 30 years. If they were 30, they'd still have 30 years to live. Why worry about it? Just make them as old as you want. It's your character. Heck, I make Alistair as old as I want, so the PC's age is certainly wide open.

Yes, but for the story illustrations, which you can't see until it's done. And I'm really busy with the final(ish) rewrite, which is taking me longer than I thought it would. Thanks for asking!

Like I said, you can see it any way you want. It's your PC. And that's all pretty relative. If Loghain survives the Landsmeet and the battle, we don't actually know when he dies. Also, while that may be what Mr. Gaider has in mind, it's not canon until it gets written. No reason for people to let it influence their gameplay.

It COULD be canon depending on whether you insist that it has to be in the game for it to count as canon or if you're willing to accept everything that the creators tell you about the world.

If you recruit Loghain and do the sacrifice yourself, the epilogue says he continues as a warden recruiter for several years before the taint does a number on him and he has to go to the Deep Roads. I can't remember the exact wording but it implies it's not a lot of time. Five years maybe?

I really want to point out, while Alistair is a fictional character, the OP is not.

I'm probably going to regret writing this Hate threads are fine. Goodness knows I've seen more Zevran hate threads in many places.  Not everyone likes Alistair, and some people (/wave) like him, but like discussing his weaknesses as well.

Now, that said... Anyone up for some Alistair/Isolde?

Edit: Not that I'm a moderator or anything (nor would I want to be). So I'll shut up now  And I'll just say...

This one is spawning new hate threads.  The latest Leliana hate thread was inspired by all the attention this one is getting.
