Actually, this is a duplicate Alistair hate thread. The moderators generally don't like additional threads started, and the old one with Gaider in it has been activated again. So if they notice this one, it'll probably get locked.

Is there a thread that actually discusses merits and flaws of any of the characters without all the hate and frog squishing?

I don't hate any of the companions. I like some more than others but they are all well developed, well thought out, interesting characters. IMHO

don't know why don't you do a search? we have discussed his merits as well but I am thinking you didn't read much before you posted

I've never seen one--here or at the ME boards. They're either someone starting a hate thread, or they're the fan threads. Usually character nuances are discussed in threads pertaining to particular circumstances, something like Wynne or Leliana's betrayal at the Ashes.

Then perhaps you should update the OP and title to sound less antagonistic? It would help convince others that this isn't a flame thread.

There was some really good discussion. But the OP changed the title to make it focus more on hate. So whatcha gonna do. *shrug* It's a fictional character in a game filled with other characters. Maybe drop the obsession about your dislike of Alistair and concentrate on things you do like?



Also, just because a thread was started before you became active doesn't mean you can't post in it. In the past when moderators have found duplicate threads like this, they've always locked them. I imagine they're probably pretty busy dealing with the DA2 forums, so maybe you can get away with keeping this open longer unless someone reports in, which I certainly have no intention of doing. If you need to hate, go at it.

Changing the title of the thread to stir people up when your topic start moving down the page puts you in the troll category.  If you keep up this kind of attitude, someone else will likely report the thread.  I doubt they would lock the other one.

Behave more reasonably, please. People will be more likely to believe your claims that you're not a troll intent on hating a fictional character irrationally if you behave rationally.

Actually, I was one of the Alistair fans in here discussing things until you changed the title of the topic.  And who is upset.  I'm more amused than upset.

I'm simply saying other people will come in and not read twenty pages of discussion, and only your title and OP and think this is a hate thread.

You're going to have to pry discussion out of people with a crowbar. Seriously, you can be critical of the character in your OP, but you don't think you'd be welcoming more varied view points with a more reasonable OP?

Metalcraze, she is not spamming.  She is talking to you and trying to give you some reasonable advice.  There have been many people in here trying to give you suggestions, and you've pretty much called all of them petty. 

Maybe you should look up the definitions of "spam" and "petty."
